frank thomas, greg maddux, curt schilling and david wells.

I'm helping get off track but I did want to chime in: Where do you draw the line? What does "things" mean? What if "things" are a painkiller or anti-inflamatory or something, and not a steroid meant to artificially increase speed and/or power.

Speaking of noggins, compare the size of the Kid's from when he came up as a rookie with the one when he joined the Reds.

if he was taking roids, wouldn't he have taken the next logical step and stemmed those injury issues with a healthy dose of GH? if anything i would think they'd have let him get back on the field quicker. and i don't remember too many freak injuries... most of them were hamstring related iirc, which are definitely not freak to get from running.

steroids aren't just taken for "power & speed" they are most commonly taken to shorten recovery time from injury, which would mean that Cal took them so he could stay in the line-up.

and griffey definitely took steroids, with arod and edgar holding his hand.
