Santana Moss breaks his hand, Tim Hightower blows out his knee, and London Fletcher pulls a hamstring. Injuries are going to decimate this team for the rest of the season. They looked almost indifferent, like they had no urgency or passion after the QB switch. It looked like a team that's pretty much punted the rest of the season. The rest of the NFC east's rising up, and there's very little chance they'll beat Buffalo or San Francisco in the coming weeks. It looks rather bleak at this point.

Chris Cooley's gone for the year. Broke his hand and he already had a bum knee nagging him since the preseason. Its the second time he's been lost for a season and despite him being a fan favorite, his trade value's rapidly declined. With Davis and Paulsen filling in, Cooley might be on the outs.

Cowboys fans rejoice.

I've been telling my friends since off-seaon 2009 that we should consider trading Cooley while he still has value. At this point I don't think we'd get much better than a 6th round pick for him. If he's willing to take a cut to stay on the team, that's cool, but with Davis and even Paulson coming on, his days do indeed seem numbered.

Eh, there's still a lot of football to be played. Win this week and 4-3 doesn't look so bad. I mean, yeah, you're probably right, it's the Redskins after all, but I'm not ready to say they've already packed it in for the year.

Shanny has always desired a traditional FB to get full impact from the zone blocking scheme. I thought that Cooley would be an outlier in that scheme, so I agree that it's a shame that the Redskins didn't get some value out of him in a trade.

They tried him out at FB this year while Darrel Young was out. He seemed to fit in well, but Young is younger, and has a smaller contract. I'd love for Cooley to retire as a Redskin, but it just looks unlikely at this point. Who knows though...strange things happen in the NFL.

Well that's the spin of the moment. He's not retiring, he wants to play, and the coaching staff loves him for his leadership with the younger guys, but he had his knee drained 15 times this season. Fred Davis and Logan Paulsen are gonna be the go-to guys. The Shanahans can put it out there that he's not going anywhere next year, but if he actually is here in 2012, I'd be shocked.

I didn't see a second of this game, but holy hell, stick a fork in 'em, they're DONE. They've lost 4 of the last 5. Beck's so vanilla and there's no offensive line left. On top of that, Fletcher hits the roof when Landry blows a coverage and Fred Davis is walking around today in a walking boot? They're crumbling apart.

Season. Over.

The worst thing about your season is that despite having a bottom-three QB situation, the Skins might well be on the outside looking in on Luck, Landry, and Barkley.

Perhaps, but the QB's for the upcoming draft seem to be better than last year. I think the team winds up with a solid one. So long as they get a QB and beef up the O-Line, I'll be happy. I really both are the primary focuses this off-season.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes that Tannehill will be a Redskin. He just seems to fit the Shanny QB mold.

I agree...I'm hoping he's around when the Redskins have a pick. Get this guy, stack up the O-Line, and throw him in there. He can't be any worse than Grossman / Beck, right?

If Shanny wants him, I doubt he fucks around. He traded all the way up from #29 to #11 to get Cutler.

Andy Dalton has worked out nicely... considering he was a 2nd rounder...

Were I a Skins fan, I'd hope to draft Mike Adams or Lucas Nix early and somebody like Tannehill or Foles in the 2nd... although Ryan Mallett's available for a 1st in 2013.

I mean, if some team fell in love w/ Griffin III, could that make Tannehill the 5th best QB in this class?
Luck, Barkley, Jones, Tannehill/Griffin?

Was pretty impressed with Barkley when I was watching him vs. Stanford the other day. Nice touch on his throws.

Its kind of funny to think the Skins actually need 2 QBs not just one, cause going into next season with Grossman and Beck on the roster simply won't work. I feel bad for Beck cause as soon as he gets a second shot, the O-line goes to shit and all the starters end up injured, so he's got no one to hand off or throw to and no line to protect him or open up running lanes. At least Grossman got to be terrible with a healthy offense, but with all the injuries and the upcoming schedule, its hard to point out a solid lock for a win. They haven't even played the 49ers yet and I think Miami's already favored the following week.

Speaking of the 49ers, how the hell does Carlos Rogers drop every gift wrapped interception as a Skins CB, but then go to San Fran and actually deliver under Harbaugh? It just seems like a blatant failure of coaching. Its not that out of reach for him to wind up with a pick this Sunday against Beck.

Something that I forgot to note from the Bills debacle is that it was the first time Mike Shanahan had ever been shut out. That's a damn shame, I was hoping he would never have that streak snapped. Meanwhile, I'm hoping like hell that the Broncos can hold onto their own record for going the longest since being shut out (it's been since 1992!).

Is there any reason to start Grossman again? He's a non-stop turnover machine, but at least there were minor flashes of efficiency in him. Granted, that was with a healthy offense and he had all his starters on the field. His play grew progressively worse from game to game, but the bottom line is that John Beck is not, was not, and never will be an effective first string QB in this league.

Miami finally won a game this weekend. Its a lock they'll string back to back victories next weekend. The idea that Shanny thought he could be effective with these two QBs this season is preposterous. He's either deluded with grandeur, past his prime, not as smart as he thinks he is, or all of the above.

Donte Stallworth released and WR David Anderson just signed in his place.

At Shanahan's recent press conference, he was asked if he was rebuilding the Redskins. He responded along the lines of "I don't know what you mean by 'rebuilding.'" Two minutes later, he then said he told his son Kyle not to come to the Redskins because they would be rebuilding the offense.

I know he plays it close to the vest, not trying to tip his hand about anything, but man he comes across like an idiot in the press.
