Dear Redskins, I think you should trade Haynesworth to the Lions. I would like to see him and Suh in the middle for the next 5 years of the 4-3.

Thanks,
Skitch Patterson.

Sheesh. That's why he's Rex Grossman.

Dan has done a better job of being low-key lately, but he just really needs to back off for a good few years. It just seems to be one thing after another with this guy...you'd think after 10+ years he'd know just to back off.

Here's a bit more info on the Snyder v. the City Paper thing...

http://www.hogshaven.com/2011/2/2/19709 ... city-paper

Update 5:44pm: The Washington City Paper has responded on their own.

As reported earlier, the Washington Post broke the news that Dan Snyder was seeking legal action the Washington City Paper for an article that was written listing dozens of the Redskins' owner's gaffes over the years. Many fans took to Twitter and Facebook to blast the owner, but the complaint against City Paper has nothing to do with those mistakes. The paragraph that had Snyder fuming and prompted the legal train was:

...That's the Dan Snyder who got caught forging names as a telemarketer with Snyder Communications...

The reason Snyder and his legal counsel are so upset is because a.) Snyder never once forged names, and b.) forgery is a federal offense. The Redskins asked The City Paper to remove this comment months ago, and they refused - hence the legal action. Interestingly, Snyder never asked for the WCP journalist to be fired (that was falsely added in by the Washington Post). When I spoke with Tony Wyllie, he assured me that any money that is awarded to the Redskins from this will go to charity.

The last straw that pushed Snyder over the top was the City Paper's attack on his wife, Tanya, who is in remission for breast cancer and has been regularly out there promoting health and breast care awareness:

His wife, Tanya Snyder, is out selling the transformation, too. Last week she went on local TV to tell an interviewer that he is now surrounded by "better people," and that he's "grown and he's evolved."

That's a low blow. If you watch her interview with Channel 8, Mrs. Snyder is simply doing a health promotion in front of 100 children, and at the very end they asked the off-topic question on the Redskins. Is that selling out?? Come on. The theory here applies, "You can go after me, but don't drag in my wife or kids." Completely classless on McKenna's part.

In my opinion, it's fair for Snyder to take action. People believe things so it's important that the truth is told, which is all Snyder wants. All of this could have been avoided if Dave McKenna would have returned the Redskins calls from the beginning. The fact that the City paper is vehemently defending the forgery line is eye-raising. Stay tuned.

Danny Boy made the rounds on Radio Row down in Dallas today giving interviews to Mike Francesa and even LaVar Arrington and Chad Dukes' show (which is on the station that competes directly with Snyder's). He distorted the lawsuit issue when brought up by Francesa, uncomfortably deflecting and evading questions about it. With LaVar, they patched things up a bit as it was the first time they'd seen each other in a while (Arrington filed a grievance under Joe Gibbs' second stint as head coach).

When Chad Dukes and Washington Post reporter Mike Wise started in with the hard hitting questions, Arrington brought the conversation back to patching up his relationship with Snyder, much to the dismay of everyone listening. It was the first time Snyder had been on their airwaves and the perfect opportunity to ask him hard questions and LaVar botched it. Everyone on Twitter gave him hell. The end of the interview came when Chad Dukes asked how Snyder could call the Washington City Paper article that he's suing over "anti-semitic" when he owns a team called the "Redskins." Apparently Snyder's people really got him out of there after that.

And this all comes on the day that an arrest warrant was issued for Albert Haynesworth. In Reston, VA on the Fairfax County Parkway, a motorist got into it with 92. Haynesworth was allegedly tail-gating and at a red light, the motorist cursed him out and flicked him off. Big Al then exited his vehicle and supposedly punched this person in a fit of road rage. He said he'd turn himself in next week.

Hail To The Redskins.

Brandon Banks was stabbed outside a DC nightclub defending a friend who was involved in a fight. Superficial wounds only, thankfully.

This stabbing was over fashion. How pathetic? Poor, poor, sensitive male ego :shake:

Brandon Banks Stabbing Started Over a Fashion Insult

Brandon Banks, AP File Photo. Well, file this under "I can't believe this caused someone to get stabbed" - reports
are saying that Brandon Banks, and his companion, Christopher Lee Nixon, were stabbed as the result of a fight that started with a fashion insult. That's right, either Banks or a friend made a crack about the suspect, 24-year-old Jason DaCosta Shorter, wearing white pants and a white jacket.
This insult lead to a fight outside of the Park nightclub, where apparently Banks and friends were just walking by, and had not been inside. Jasmine Henderson, who was at the club, spoke to TBD and says that security was involved in the fight initially but couldn't contain the those involved.

Shorter has been charged with assault with intent to kill. However, the Washington Post reports that the U.S. Attorney's office will charge him with assault with a dangerous weapon. Both Nixon and Banks are still in the hospital. Banks is expected to be released from Howard University Hospital sometime today, while Nixon is in critical condition at the GW Hospital. Nixon had multiple cuts on face and body, which required surgery. He is in intensive care.

Damn. I'm as sick of this shit as any Skins fan, but I hope there is some way we can get some value for him as opposed to just cutting him. At this point, I'd take a 4th round pick for him.
So much for that. Seriously, just cut his ass.

Haynesworth Accused of Sexual Abuse: Sources
Updated 3:36 PM EST, Mon, Feb 14, 2011

Sources say a waitress claims that Albert Haynesworth sexually abused her over the weekend at the W Hotel in Washington.

Police are investigating the complaint made by the waitress.

The U.S. Attorney's Office is expected to review the evidence in the case to see what, if any, charges may be brought against Haynesworth.

Haynesworth's agent, Chad Speck, provided the following statement to NBC Washington's Dan Hellie:

"There seems to be no truth to these allegations. We are currently evaluating facts and considering our own legal action against those involved."

According to a police report obtained by NBC Washington, the waitress stated that her hands were full carrying glasses as she was clearing the table at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

She said that "Subject 1" tried to pay his bill by giving her his credit card, but he asked if it was OK to stick the card in her blouse near her breast area. She nodded her head yes and, according to the report, she said he then placed the card into her blouse gently, sliding the card further into her left side of the blouse and then started to caress her breast.

Haynesworth’s name is not mentioned in the report, which was filed at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, but sources say that "Subject 1" is indeed referring to Haynesworth.

On Saturday morning, Haynesworth and his lawyer went to the Reston police station, where he was charged with assault stemming from an incident on February 2 in which a man said the football player hit him while he was sitting in his car.

Haynesworth, 29, signed a summons releasable warrant, charging him with assault, and then departed the police station. He is due in Fairfax County Criminal Court at 9:30 a.m. on March 31.

Brandon Banks has had a tube inserted into his chest to prevent his left lung from collapsing. "Superficial wounds" my ass. The dude instigated a fight and got stabbed. It never ends with this team.

Clinton Portis is no longer a Redskin, and unfortunately Albert Haynesworth is.

I like this move, and it's certainly an upgrade at the position. This will be a nice safety duo is Dirty 30 back there too.

REDSKINS SIGN OSHIOMOGHO ATOGWE

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (pronounced oh-SHIM-ago uh-TOG-way). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Atogwe spent his previous six NFL seasons with the St. Louis Rams after being selected in the third round (No. 66 overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He has played in 88 career games, with 75 starts, and recorded 470 tackles, 22 interceptions, 22 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and five sacks. Atogwe’s combined 44 forced fumbles and interceptions since the start of 2006 are the most in the NFL, while his interception total over that span is tied for the eighth-most in the NFL.

Last season, Atogwe played in 16 games, with 15 starts, and registered 87 tackles, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and two sacks. That followed a 2008 campaign where he played and started 12 games and finished second on the team with 82 tackles, while also recording one sack, two interceptions, three passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

In 2007, Atogwe led the NFC with a career-high eight interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also recorded 94 tackles, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Atogwe emerged as a full-time starter in 2006, when he opened all 16 games and finished third on the team with 91 tackles. He played in 12 games as a rookie, recording an interception and fumble recovery.

Atogwe played collegiately at Stanford where he was a biological science major and All-Pac-10 honoree as a senior. Atogwe is a native of Windsor, Ont., Canada, where he attended W.F. Herman Secondary School.
