although honestly, after the past two years of this basketball team, no one can really be truly surprised that that happened. if you are, then you know less about college basketball than you thought.

The 5 second call at the end of the arizona-texas game was terrible. Not even close to 5 seconds. That ref should be fired.

obviously it wasnt 5 seconds.

i saw someone mention you have until the 4 count to call time out and the 5 count to inbound the ball. i dunno if that is true or not. shrugs. if that is somehow true, then i can live with it. if not, then im still bloody pissed off to hell.

So after having 11 out of 16 teams in the tournament, and having the possibility of 9 teams reach the sweet sixteen, the Big East will manage 2 teams in the round of 16 after Notre Dame finishes shitting their brick against Florida St.

the only thing that i can defend the big east with is they have no idea how to play defense when its not in the big east. other than that, just make the plays

i love that people are bitching that the refs made the call against pitt on the rebound but have no qualms about the call made that coulda given pitt the lead

I'm wondering what most of the Big East teams do early in the season.... the non conference if you will.

I'm thinking they probably go very very light and pad the records a bit. In the last few years they have managed quite a few good teams but not many great teams.

I think Nova was at 17 or 18 wins before they hit the conference schedule and fell apart. They weren't very good. Cuse pads thier schedule (Eric Devendorf wasn't walking through that door). Gtown wasn't that good to begin with. Pitt has a mental block in the tournament. I have no idea what Notre Dame did last night, did Singleton even play for FSU?

Embarassing tourney for the Big East though to say the least.

I haven't seen too many Notre Dame games, but I think if they aren't hitting their shots then they've got nothing. And a really good defensive team like FSU was going to make things difficult for them.

I guess it was kind of known prior to the tournament that ND was awful on defense and they live on thier shooting which all year was spectacular. FSU doesn't generally score very well, but they do play hellacious defense.

Ohio State, Duke and Kansas should all make the final 4 but it may be interesting getting there.

I'm not sure North Carolina is mature enough to hang with OSU. They play really really stupid basketball at times but counter it with incredible athletic feats.

I really think the two best teams are Ohio State and Duke and Kansas is probably 3rd.... I just think the champion at this point will probably be either the Buckeyes or the Devils.

championship game 2

so im not looking that bad, i thought K state would go a bit deeper

. I remember that's what they used to call it, and somewhere along the lines it was changed to "elite 8", which sounds stupid to me.

I don't agree with everything that comes out of Charles Barkley's mouth, but I have to admit that the guy has guts. He looked right at Patino and told him that the Big East was overrated. Patino was clearly pissed off.

i dont know if id agree it overrated in the sense that the kids have no idea how to play defense unless its in the big east schedule. when they get to the tourney its a different beast and they never adjust

Ive got OSU beating Kansas 75 - 70 in the championship game

missed on Pitt and Notre Dame but other than that I'm in good shape.

Also felt good about Utah St and thought they'd take out Pitt. Oops. Had Notre Dame losing in second round but thought A&M would do it.
