Who cares? I do.

I wanna say Dale Jr. (of course) but I'm thinking either he will push Tony Stewart to the front or Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson will team up. If Johnson won it I wouldn't be surprised.

Okay kiddies -- we have 75 days until the race...... who's gonna win it?

I guess "a redneck" means (other than you're smartie-butts), anyone EXCEPT these guys:

Kurt Bucsh (Las Vegas, NV)
Tony Stewart (Rushville, IN)
Jeff Gordon (Vallejo, California)
Jimmy Johnson (El Cajon, California)
Kasey Kahne (Enumclaw, WA)
Greg Bifle (Washington)
Robbie Gordon (California)
Matt Kenseth (Cambridge, Wisconsin)
Brendan Gaughan (Las Vegas, NV)
Kevin Harvick (Bakersfield, CA)
Kevin Lepage (Shelbrune, Vermont)
Casey Mears (Bakersfield, CA)
Johnny Sauter (Wisconsin)
Scott Wimmer (Wisconsin)

That leaves either LaBonte brother, Dale Jr., Waltrip, Sadler, a Burton brother, a Wallace, Jarrett, some "sophmores", Kyle Petty, and Kenny Schraeder (not bloody likely).

....so,.... I guess Dale Jr. is the easy vote.

~smarties~

I think a non-redneck West coast born driver.... what say you?

I don't believe your state of birth automatically excludes you from being a redneck. I know plenty that live in Michigan. Hell, there's entire towns of them. And saying Indiana doesn't produce rednecks is ludicrous.

I live in Indiana and I can second that!

It's like a misplaced southern state.

On the other hand, saying that being a race car driver automatically MAKES you a redneck is equally as ludicrous.

My sentiment exactly.

So, who's going to win the Daytona 500 in Feb 05 then?

Vote people - take a wild guess.

rednecks can be from anywhere, its a state of mind. One of the criteria of being a redneck is participating in, or watching, a NASCAR event.

I think some of Kentucky spilled over the Ohio River.

Okay, I know all I got is a bunch of 'red neck' flack from you guys on this, but maybe we can start over and you can humor me (seeing as I don't piss all over the baseball and football threads about which I couldn't give a rats ass really but I keep that to myself out of respect for your appreciation of both).....

Speed Weeks started yesterday, the Bud Shootout is Saturday Night 2/12, and the twin 125's are a week from Thursday....and I'm pretty excited.

If anyone want's to talk "racing", please post herein - if not, please Don't and I will let this thread "die" due to lack of interest and never mention it again...

... thanks in advance.

Anyone wanna talk Cup racing?
