Will Muschamp just pulled a Mike Gundy in writing. He should have released a YouTube version.

“I’m angered, disgusted and extremely disappointed that Sharrif will have to miss two games.

In my opinion Sharrif is getting lumped into what is bad about college athletics. As we indicated in the statement Saturday night his issue was not related to sports agents, University of Florida boosters or his recruitment to Florida or anywhere else.

Sharrif is what is good about college athletics – his life is about survival, struggle, disappointment and adversity. I have recruited kids that did not know where they would sleep that night or what they would eat. Growing up, Sharrif was one these kids. Sharrif’s life is also about triumph, honesty, integrity, determination, perseverance and character. The NCAA stated that he received preferential treatment; there is nothing preferential about his life.

He grew up with only his great-grandmother and still sends her Pell Grant money so she can pay her bills. How many kids do you know that would do that? I know one – Sharrif Floyd.

I want to make it clear that this issue is not about sports agents, Florida boosters or his recruitment to Florida or anywhere else. The issue is about his survival and the only reason the NCAA, the SEC and the University of Florida were aware of these issues is because Sharrif brought them to our attention last February. He came forward because, as I said before, he is honest and because of his integrity.

The toughest day that I have had as a head football coach at Florida was the day that I had to tell Sharrif that he could not play in our game vs. FAU last week. I took away part of his family.

He had tears in his eyes and said “What have I done wrong?” I told him he did nothing wrong. It wasn’t any easier to tell him today that he would be missing Saturday’s game.

I have two sons at home- if they end up like Sharrif I will consider myself a successful father.”

So basically he's blowing things out of proportion to try and make people see the school in a better light and or.... this is more about recruiting than Sharrif?

If it's not about that coach, then WTF is it about? It's about him taking money he was not allowed to take. I'd do it, you would do it everyone would do it in that situation. The rule is stupid yes. The NCAA is legislated in an assinine way, but that's the rules so shut the fuck up. You know them. Way to have the balls to schedule FAU coach...

The rules are the rules, and they need to be abided by while they are in place (which Muschamp is doing). Still, it's refreshing to see someone speak out against them in such strong words.

True, I'm not really a big fan of any zero tolerance rules.

But, Muschamp has been there all of 10 minutes, this is way more about getting players and fans to buy in than anything having to do with Shariff Floyd. He's just using him like everyone else has, same as Mike Gundy did to make a name for himself.

Nice win in Tempe tonight, good to see the stadium mostly full. Osweiler was impressive and showed that he can lead this offense. The second half felt way too much like last year with so many penalties and letting teams back in games, typical Erickson football with this team.

I was furious there during the fourth quarter... Glad we finally pulled one off.

Osweiler is definitely improving. Nice to have a QB who has a pair of legs for once.

Wofford @ Clemson toady on ESPN 3, exciting game!

Can't wait for the week 3 through 5 stretch. Clemson plays Auburn, Florida State, and Virginia Tech. This stretch will determine where the Tigers are this season.

Hopefully today Clemson gets a huge lead and the back-ups get plenty of reps.

Yeah, once Wofford is ahead by a few TDs, Clemson will need to get their back ups some work.

Just kidding around. I played for Wofford a while ago.

Oh cool. I almost went there, and really like the school. If they were playing anyone else, I'd root for them.

My class was Wofford's first division I recruiting class and then my Junior year was our first in the Southern Conference. We did OK but I can't get over how well Wofford has done recently. They have built a good I-AA program there and have won the conference a few times in the last ten years.

Desmond Howard announced as the first "Michigan Football Legend."
the #21 UM jersey will have a patch honoring that for the rest of time.

I really hope the Georgia fans take it a bit easier on Mark Richt. They played their hearts out against the Gamecocks. Resume ranting if they lose to a team like Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Meanwhile, I've only had a corner of my eye on the game, but it's ridiculous how badly Texas's offense is doing. I see they put Colt's little brother in already....

As a slightly different alternative to retiring a number or a "ring of honor."

What's this? A close, gutsy win mostly won by rushing the ball? Fucking finally.

I've been to a lot of Michigan games in Ann Arbor. But I've never seen the student section like that or that loud.

Nice defense there Michigan.
