I keep hearing that Penn State's going to hire O'Brien and can't help but think of this:

Ok now we play a rubber game in Jackson MS right?

Also if your town has a natural disaster and people die, you can count on ESPN and Tom Rinaldi to draw connections to your local sports team

LSU had a better season, Bama won the war.

SEC football might be "better" (which I think is bullshit) but I sure am bored watching it.

that game was a little fucked up. just endless crushing of LSU's hopes, but by only scoring field goals never quite removing the hope and ending the game. even sadder how the last drive went, and that final punt.

i'm sort of stunned at how badly the option worked for LSU. sort of a guaranteed three yard loss. And I still don't understand not switching quarterbacks by the end.

Cam was a lot more fun than Jordan J.

AJ McCarron comes from a long line of dull ball control Bama QBs. It's a formula.

That Auburn offense was the most entertaining thing in the SEC in a long time.

Really would have liked to see Stanford or OSU play Bama.

something about that game, the specific way in which Alabama dominated LSU (and also, Saban's reaction to one penalty with a 21 point lead late in the game), brought to mind 1984, and this line
Spoiler: show
There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always — do not forget this, Winston — always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.

Stanford could have beat them. I'm almost sure of it.

mike gundy feels similar about his own team.

Mike Gundy's team and Stanford do not play anywhere near the level of defense that Alabama does.

Instead of 21 to 0 you're looking at a 38-10 or 30 to 15 score at best.

about the same score that LSU/Oregon played too earlier in the season.

Fair point, but the tackling in both games, was freaking brilliant anyway.
