Yep, that's what's going to happen. Game 2 and 3 starters are being bumped up to Game 1 and 2. Which means Verlander gets only one start. I think that's an advantage for the Yankees, as good as I think Sabathia is.

well, they could put him out there for game 5, if it's needed.

Spike, I know you're a realist, but shut up.

don't be a mad tiger, man.

Ya know, all I ever did was defend them against a very stupid stat that was floated about after they went 27-5... a stat most of my Cub fans around here also repeated after ESPN reported it. I never once said they were the best team, or would win the world series LOL I just said i wasnt worried about them making the playoffs... but oh well.

Rain sucks

He comes in for relief in Game 5 and he isn't pitching game 1 of the ALCS, I'll tell you that. Then again, they might not make it there without his help. How good is Detroit's bullpen? I know their closer is not as good as his saves number suggests.

He got pretty solid at the end of the year (I think) had him on my fantasy team, I remember him always putting runners on early in the year, and if it wasnt a save situation, hed get hit pretty good. But I wanna say he really got hot down the stretch?

either way, theyre playing 4 days in a row for sure at this point. which means you need long starts from your starters, or your bullpen will be a mess

this could be huge for the ALCS, especially if TB buzzsaws through TEX.

Yeah, I was talking to someone about the schedule today, and what makes baseball unique... do you really wanna sweep in any of these series, and have your pitchers get too much rest? the ALCS wraps up 1 day before the NLCS, if the ALCS is a sweep, and the NLCS goes 7, youd have 7 days off waiting for the NLCS. But at the same time, in this case, youll have NY/Detroit getting no days off, and the bullpens possibly over worked facing a fresh Rays team...

ah well im off 2 bed...

Here we go Brewers here we go CLAP CLAP

This means Burnett will definitely have to start a game for the Yanks if neither team sweeps (and he might have to pitch game 3 regardless).

Why would you pitch to Prince with a base open?!

I dont mind pitching to the best hitters, the question is, why are you trying to go down and in on a guy who drools over down and in?

Mike Maddux had a great quote years ago when he was the Brewers pitching coach...
"If we walk Bonds everytime up because you "shouldnt pitch to Bonds" in such and such situation, what happens when you face him game 7 of the playoffs with a 1 run lead and the bases loaded? youre pitcher has no clue how to face him, nothing to fall back on. But if you go out and pitch to hitters all season long, you have that to fall back on, "yeah i got him out doing this or that" and suddenly you gain confidence for when you have to make a big pitch in a big situation"

(or something along those lines as it was on a radio interview but Ive always really liked that line of thinking)
