No, they need another win or another SF loss, I think.

I would agree that this is as close to a "good" loss as you can have, though. Tends to refocus the team, plus gives them the opportunity to rest players.

In 1998-9 I don't think the Broncos would have made it out of the AFC if they hadn't finally lost the undefeated season in December.

nah, i think if the saints and 9ers win out and pack lose out the pack might lose homefield (and the bye). but one more win delivers it.

the saints might lose out in tie breakers. i think only SF can. but they wont.

the saints already have three losses and the packers beat them in week one. the best new orleans can get is the second seed. san fran needs to win out and the pack needs to drop their last two for the niners to secure the top seed.

This is not about refocusing for the Packers. Thier defense has been suspect all year. Their running game has been suspect all year. What they have done well is score points predominantly through the ridiculously good play of Aaron Rodgers. Last two weeks, receivers dropping balls (looking at you Finley) and committing penalties (Nelson) It's different with Jennings no question, but the problem right now is health.

If the Packers don't get Bulaga and Clifton healthy they are going to have problems in the playoffs. Sherrod is a big loss.

It's not a crusher, they can still win obviously, but it's limiting. Rodgers is good getting out of trouble himself, but the routes are going to have to be quicker and the ball is going to have to be out quicker.
