This just shows how extremely stupid this whole tebowmania bullshit is. Tebow above Marcus Allen and Earl Campbell? Please.

Producers Respond to Tim Tebow Top 10 Outrage by TCIPF Staff
Below is a response from the producers of NFL Network’s “Top 10 Heisman Winners in the NFL” about the outrage of Tim Tebow’s placement on the list.
This morning, the blogosphere is on fire with outrage that Tim Tebow’s outranked two Hall of Famers on our list of Top 10 Heisman Trophy Winners in the NFL. C’mon guys, give Tebow a break. The Heisman Trophy isn’t always about who’s the best player. Just ask Larry Fitzgerald and Eli Manning about losing out to Jason White.
This isn’t a personnel department’s draft evalution, it’s a ranking of stars. That’s what your ideal Heisman winner is – a star.
The list’s criteria was simple:
Who had the best NFL career? Who had signature plays and great moments? Who had box-office appeal? Who sells tickets? Who sells jerseys? Who has cultural resonance? Who passes the Mom test?
Tim Tebow hasn’t had the playing career that Earl Campbell or Marcus Allen but Heismans are about more than yards gained or touchdowns scored. And in terms of cultural resonance, Tebow’s off the charts.
See what all the debate’s about with an encore presentation of Top 10 Heisman Winners in the NFL today at 3 p.m. eastern, noon pacific and next Thursday, May 3rd at 8 p.m. eastern, 5 p.m. pacific only on NFL Network.

Tebow aside, I notice Cam Newton at 10. He had a great rookie season and all, but do you think Vinny Testaverde is kind of waving his arm in the crowd saying remember me? Yeah he was a journeyman, but he IS 7th all time in passing yards and 8th all time in passing TD's.
I realize under the parameters of this list he's not really a "household name" to casual fans, but is Cam Newton? Or Paul Hornung for that matter?

Rich Eisen has been trolling Mike Mayock all weekend making gratuitous Tebow references, of which Mayock did not want to even dignify with a response. He finally snapped and went on a Tebow rant. Too funny.

Next stop, Canada.
If this happens, it will interesting to see the US media's coverage.
ESPN admitted they made a mistake with the Tebow stuff during Jets training camp. But if he goes to Canada, you know they won't be able to help themselves and they'll totally overdo it. NFL Network as well. I know NFL Network shows CFL games, but as far as I know they don't talk about the league otherwise.

I wonder how well Tebow would fit in Chip Kelly's offense. If he does, I could see Shahid Khan decide to blow up the Jags, hire Kelly, and trade for Tebow as a purely business move to get all the Gator fans in the area to take down the tarps.

I know everybody keeps saying this, (maybe not Kelly specifically, but Tebow to Jacksonville) but IMO losing games is bad for business no matter how big of a star or how beloved the hometown guy is. A 1-3 or 0-4 start would quickly dull the buzz. Unless they think Tebow can win games and turn the franchise around it'd be a bad move.
I just hate the fact that while he very likely isn't a starting caliber QB in the league (though I am still holding out belief and hope), he may not even get a chance because of all the insane hype and media machine that comes with him. Even if he's garbage as a QB, you can't convince me that there aren't coaches in the NFL that wouldn't be able to use Tebow properly and get value out of him. I guess the question is whether whatever value he provides will be worth the ensuing media carnival that follows him.

I agree that wins and losses are the ultimate business decider, and if Shahid Khan doesn't know that, he'll find out the hard way. However, as we all know he's publicly said that he wanted Tebow, so there is something on the record at least. Only time will tell until we know what kind of owner he really is.
I, too, hold out hope that Tebow can make it in the NFL. I think his best hope is if his next coach is smart enough to run him in the pistol offense. The 49ers, Redskins, and Seahawks are all having great success by instituting pistol formations with their QBs, and I think that would really make Tebow's strengths threatening.

Pretty much this.
I just hope he doesn't go to another mechanics guru this offseason. Just work on being more accurate. Throw thousands upon thousands of passes. Pick 5 throws and work on them until he can do it blindfolded. I don't care how elongated his motion is. I realize it isn't ideal, but his bigger problem was simply not being able to hit open receivers, or worse, not having the confidence at times to even attempt the throw.
