If the Giants win I'll have a lot less work to do Sunday night.

Not silence, but I won't have to stay late Sunday night to put together a montage of the game calls.

you could try to set it up now w/ calls from XLII (Tuck w/ the sack, Welker w/ the catch) and then fill in w/ new stuff later.

is there anything the refs can do about this? seriously? they have to honor a injured player, so we're all s.o.l., no?

also, i wonder if the fact that McDaniels was OC for this game could influence anything in the Pats game-plan for tomorrow. they already no-huddle more than anybody else this season and w/ their 2wr-2te-1rb offense being so diverse, i don't see why they wouldn't open up w/ this like they did against Denver.

not that it puts my sphincter at ease, i'm just thinking outloud here as i wait to get drunk enough to sleep until tomorrow night.

I was trying to remember which teams the Giants did that against and couldn't. It's because it was the Rams and I don't even associate the word "offense" with them. :haha:

right.

so, with that laugh out of the way, could they conceivably call delay of game for such an act? i can't see officials providing the precedent to not honor an "injured" player, but i'd love for it to happen and benefit the pats.

I'd like to think pride would prevent the Giants from doing such a thing, but you never know. They'd probably get away with it if they did it as there's really no way to prove a player is faking an injury. If they do it in the SB...that's pretty goddamn weak.

the pats hurry-up more than anybody, so hopefully the G-Men don't fake anything and the Pats put them on sleds.

refs can call delay of game on a defender excessively laying on a pile. i'd think they could call delay of game on anything that delays the game, but it has to be tough to prove intent on an injury (and the outcry if they incorrectly did so would be huge--on that play it's obvious, but most injury fakes are better than that, and cramps do occasionally happen post-play).

i would just hate to see it.

i know "every team does it," but it's pretty well known that the Pats will go hurry-up tomorrow and the Gints have this incriminating clip from this season.

Like I said, I'd like to think that something done against the Rams in a shitty game near the start of the year won't happen in the Super Bowl in front of hundreds of millions of people. But you never know.

So Ellis is already whining about the refs and the game's still 20 hours away. Great.
