UN FUCKING REAL.

the setting.... Sixers vs Magic.....late 3rd quarter.....Sixers blow a huge lead and the Magic score 14 straight points.....Iverson goes back into the game with 35 points and just EXPLODES for 12 straight minutes.

60 points. 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, 1 block
(17-36 from field goal range. 24-27 from the line)

Sixers 112 Magic 99

that would belong to David Robinson when the Clippers let him score 71 on purpose

but there was nothing unimpressive about Iverson. he went to the line alot but he's smart enough to know that everytime he goes into the paint he's going to end up on the floor and getting 2 free points.

and the fact that he's 5'11 and barely 160 pounds doesnt hurt the "WOW" factor either.

That is pretty insane. The thing I don't like about him is that he never works out, and admits to eating a lot of McDonalds.

Don't be so surprised.

I've worked with Olympians, gold medalists, professional athletes, and college athletes who have just as bad of habits (sometimes worse!)

Few can rely on genetics and turning it on at the game, and the Answer certainly qualifies for that.

Most cannot.

There was an article a while back about someone going to mcdonalds and he was sitting outside on the curb eating a bagfull of junk. One of the points of the articles was about how he doesnt give out autographs, the person quoted asked him for one and he told them no, even in that setting, sitting outside the mcdonalds by himself eating burgers and fries.

I have a friend who bartended in the one place Iverson hangs out at regularly (a restaurant with a bar, not any place you would ever imaging him hanging at). Some guy ended up punching him in the face because he wouldnt sign an autograph for his kid, even after explaining that he doesnt do autographs for anyone.

....anyway, im off the topic.....Iverson is fucking incredible. I've watched 90% of the games he has played in since he was drafted and he is having a better season than the year he won MVP. an amazing player.

There's a sports show host here that actually says he isnt a hall of fame player. (this is the guy Iverson ripped apart at a press conference last year.)

His FT% is impressive, but 17/36 isn't all that fantastic. AI is a great player, but I think he's highly overrated. He's a ball hog who tosses up a ton of shots, thus leading the league in points per game.

You know nothing about basketball. do us all a favor and just stop paying attention to it.

That's why I'm not as big of an Iverson fan... while there isn't anybody else outstanding on the Sixers, I still think 60 from anybody else save Kobe is more impressive

Glad to see you're open to an open discussion. Oh wait...you're a Philly fan, thus all their players are fantastic.

uh, no

Iverson is a great player who busts his balls, it has nothing to do with him playing here. By the way, just as many people around here hate Iverson than like him.
