Question to the more hardcore golf fans: Is watching golf significantly more fun for you when Tiger is playing well/in contention down the stretch?

I pretty much agree with what the others have said..I've probably watched every major and most other tournaments since the mid 70s..I have NEVER seen anybody come close to what Tiger can do..Is it sickening to watch announcers gush over him? of course, sometimes to the point that you want to vomit. But I will stop what I'm doing to watch him hit every shot

The US Open final round playoff between Tiger and Rocco Mediate is some of the best sports TV I've ever seen.

I was at that tournament and actually spent most of the time in a tent watching it on TV because it was so crazy

Can't deny the appeal of watching Tiger. Even when he's off, there's something about watching him play. I think he wears his emotions far more than anyone else on tour - that could be part of the appeal. Most of time he's pretty dickish and seems like a spoiled brat on the course. But, up through 2009, he could walk the talk. Seems he's finally back on his game, but the others have elevated there's so much more. Its actually a great time for the sport. There really is no dominant player anymore.

I was really amazed, though, finally seeing him play in person at the USOpen at Bethpage a few years ago. The entourage/snapparazzi he has to endure for every round is unbelievable. No wonder so many players hate being paired up with him.

That whole tournament was incredible. Amazing how many people streamed that playoff at work. Not much got done that day.

Haven't seen him play this year, but Ryo Ishikawa is fun to watch too. He's got some greatness in him.

all you do to play a fade is aim your body slightly left , open the clubface, and make the exact same swing you always make

Unfortunately, when average golfers try to play a power fade, they often come over the top (out to in), resulting in a weak pull-slice.

Yeah when I get a range pass I'm going to have to start practicing different shots. I'm just going for straight now.

I actually don't slice or hook much (when I don't top the ball or hit the ground first  ). I either hit it pretty straight, or push to the left.

Overlap with irons. Interlock with driver (which I don't use much right now).

the putt putt course selection around here is woefully devoid of animatronic distractions
