Ireland is kind of like the USA in that the team gets thrown together for international play, but they arent really used to playing together as a team.

Same goes for England though. Sadly, we can't all be Spain..most of those guys make up the Barcelona team and at least play in the same league against each other if not on the same team. Killer.

Well England almost always plays their real A-team, even in friendlies. The USA, and Ireland to a lesser extent, dont play their full a-team together that often.

Sounds wacky ut the moment Trappatoni took on the managers role, he both picked a fight and refused to play our 4 best players, none of whom will now play for us as a result. So going in we were at a loss, but we hadnt conceded a goal for 14 games up to this so god knows whos right.

I could hug each and every Irish. Something that can't be said about the English or the Americans. Fans of the tournament. By far. I've been listening to/whistling/singing this song non-stop since the end of the game.

Thanks for the empathy Rafa:) it was anything but awesome at this end, but they're a better team..grit, hardwork and hard to beat are our strong points..those things melt in the face of such skill and grace.
NO shame in losing to the Spanish. Champions of Europe and the World remember..

jesus christ..
Italian players fall over in a soft breeze and go on like their legs are broken, get free kicks and we get given yellow cards..Irish players get literally pulled pushed and kicked over, get straight back up to actually play and nothing happens..biased much referee or just shit at your job?
The Italians would be better suited to amateur dramatics onstage or pro wrestling...fuckin fairies..
