If Dwight does come to Atlanta he won't be here more than one year. The guy wants to be in Brooklyn and I think he cares more about endorsements also I don't think he wants the hassle of playing at home or for the ASG Clowns that still own the Hawks.
Josh Smith has mentioned several times he wants out because even though he's the Hawks most exciting player he gets booed a lot because he won't stop taking ill advised outside shots and he pouts about that. That and he's still playing for the worst ownership in the NBA. That said, with Joe gone it might be different this year. He was an All Star player last year especially after the snub.

Can Jason Heyward hoop it up?
I've never seen him play. I don't think he even tried anything other than baseball in HS. That said, UGA totally wasted it, but Brandon Boykin was one of the best dunkers in the state in HS. For a short guy he can really jump.

Maybe Crowell can run the point for them this year.

*Alabama State's problem now.
lol I was just wondering if he had transferred anywhere yet. I'm pretty glad he didn't end up at Bama.
I think he wants to come to Miami, but I also think there's at least a decent chance that in a show of good faith towards Boston he goes to the Clippers and more money instead.

And then there were two. Clippers cancel meeting. Just Boston and Miami at this point.
If it wasn't for the Terry signing I'd be positive he was headed back to Boston.

He is going to Miami. Where is he even going to play? For him to be effective you need him on the floor with the 'big 3'. Ray can still shoot but I don't think he has much left in the tank at this point anyway....

What do you mean? He'd probably get more minutes in Miami than in Boston. If the Heat choose to go small (doesn't seem to be much option there anyway) he'll get his minutes. First off, Wade is better playing less minutes these days, somewhere in the 34 min neighborhood. With Wade on the floor they've shown a willingness to play Big 3 plus two wing perimeter shooters with or without one of those necessarily being a PG.

You could well be right. But I want him still, and I think this is the perfect situation for him to succeed at this point.

I'm sure they will figure out a way to get all those guys on the floor together....I just don't know if it makes a ton of sense to sacrifice a guy like Chalmers for Ray, who showed serious signs of being done in the second half last year. The real question is: will Ray and Shane Battier start some sort of well spoken nice guy society together. Maybe a book club?
I think Ray would regret it if he went to Mia. Not cause he would have a better chance winning a championship somewhere else cause Mia has a better chance then anyone. It's just he'd just be a hired gun down there. He's a icon in New England.

Ray will get lots of outside shots in Miami, with a lot of open looks because Lebron is going to be doubled, and Wade has to be defended well too, not to mention Bosh.
So your 3rd or 4th option is on Allen, and more than likely it will be a switching defender rushing out to cover that shot.
It's good to be Ray Allen either way, he could stay in Boston, rest until the playoffs (with Jason Terry filling his primary role most of the year), and try and make one more good run. Or he can be the outside option in Miami with Lebron.
The last game of the finals proved there is a ton of space at the 3pt line when Lebron is in beast mode down low.
I'm not sure what Ray Allen has left in the tank though. He didn't look good well in the playoffs.

This is my concern for him as well as Pierce & Garnett. The shortened season may have helped them be what they were in the playoffs.
True, though the Celtics have got enough pretty good young players now I think they could make the playoffs in the East while resting those guys smartly through the year. THey don't care about home court. Pierce can still give you 40 on a given night and Garnett can score too, but it would take a collapse I think for them to beat Miami, I still think they could do it though next year.
Any championship run would have to be led by Rondo (and I'm a huge fan of Avery Bradley too)

I'd believe this more if I knew what Jeff Green was going to produce.

It's been on Rondo's shoulders for a few years now, but I agree that Bradley showed promise and let's not forget that Fab Melo is going to revolutionize the center position.

yeah for the record, I fucking hate Boston for taking Melo one pick before the Hawks. I wanted a back to the basket defensive center and I didn't care that his offensive game isn't good. Those two picks back to back Sullinger and Melo, If that works out, wow nice combo. If Sullinger is good enough they could trade Green.
but while we're on things I hate. I'm developing a massive complex against the Knicks. They are an irrellevant franchise, that couldn't win even with Ewing. I am so tired of hearing about the freaking Knicks....
Dear New York City, the Knicks are terrible. Live with it, embrace it, accept it.
ESPN's people will not give it up. It's always oh the Lakers and the Celtics... and of course the Knicks... (no, shitheads, the Knicks occupy a space in the New York Lexicon but they are a terrible franchise they are WAY south of the Yankees not just geographically)
It's the Lakers and the Celtics... and then a decade of Chicago dominance. Other than that the rest of us are also rans.
