I just want them to beat Boston in the playoffs ONE time and make it to the Eastern Conference Finals as they have never acomplished either of those feats to my knowledge.

Championships?.... let's make it to the ECF and hope for the best.

see this one today?

http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId= ... 1326550693

If you aren't an "insider" here's a few of the comments...

"That's the summary, but let's zoom out to the big picture. I'm not sure anybody has put together all the dots on this, but consider the following:

- Josh Smith is from Atlanta.

- Dwight Howard is from Atlanta.

- Dwight Howard and Josh Smith played together in high school and remain friends; in fact, Howard was the best man in Smith's wedding.

- Chris Paul is not from Atlanta but is from North Carolina and wanted to play in Atlanta coming out of college.

- Chris Paul, Dwight Howard and Josh Smith all will be free agents next summer.

- Dwight Howard's main target in 2013 free agency, Brooklyn, just used up all its potential cap space in Monday's trade with Atlanta.

- Atlanta now has only two players under contract for 2013-14, center Al Horford and first-round pick John Jenkins, and will have well north of $40 milion in cap room.

- Atlanta could rather easily trade Horford, an All-Star center with a below-market contract, to create more room if needed.

Yes, this is the real endgame for Atlanta: not just Howard, but Howard and CP3. The Hawks now are in position to do it and can get to that point in several ways."

I was talking to some of my friends about the Sixers this week. People are saying they might ride out Brand and Iggy this year and hope the young guys develop more, then try and make a splash in free agency next offseason.

So I looked at the unrestricted list for that year. The one person who makes sense is Bynum. So they would have a starting 5 of Holiday, Iguodala, Turner, Allen and Bynum. This is with another year of experience for Holiday and Turner. Then they have Young and the 2 rookies from this draft coming off the bench. Turner is a beast on the boards (6rpg in 26 mpg) for his position, Iggy is a lock down defender (ask paul pierce), Bynum could put up 25+ per game on a team without Kobe jacking up 23 shots per game while he shoots close to 60%.

I guess I'm optimistic, but I think that lineup can be a contender. (yes they would still need a shooter)

I think the 6ers have the makings of a nice playoff team. The East is mostly garbage next year anyway.

I'm just not a Bynum fan in the least. I always feel like he should be a better player than he shows.

Not sure what Terry's role would be with the C's unless Ray Allen doesn't resign I guess. He's a quality player still I'd think, but I'd still rather have Allen depending on the price.

The blog post indicates they'd like to sign both, but yeah, seems far fetched.

its (un)official, they've agreed to deal. Terry is a Celtic for 3 years $15M total. all of this can become official July 11th.

The signing moratorium drives me nuts. So many things are always listed as "sources say" because the teams can't officially announce it.

I can't wait to see which team of superfriends will triumph. I think Reggie Miller Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone tried something like this in the 90's. Wait....no, no they didn't....

Yeah, it was only Scottie and Malone of those three.

Reports say the Knicks are willing to offer Shumpert in a sign and trade to get Nash.I don't know what they're thinking. I mean, I realize they probably think Nash is the key to making Amare look good, and they may well be right...but do they really a think adding another guy who is offense only, and getting older in the process, is going to take them to the next level?
