That Tulane player is likely paralyzed, very easily could have died. I love football but sometimes it seems so fucking stupid and pointless. I hope he's ok and recovers as much as possible.

touchbacks come back to the 25 now? WTF?

Weird. Although I guess it kinda makes sense with the overtime rules and what not.

It's to encourage more touchbacks on kickoffs to reduce high speed collision plays. They only come out to the 25 on kickoffs, not on punts, interceptions, etc.

Love Mizzou's helmets.

It was a fun game against Georgia, but I kind of figured Mizzou wouldn't have enough. They've got a good shot at running the table leading up to the SEC title game once they get their starters back.

The good news, is that atmosphere, that environment, is the same every single week. It was an excellent game well outside of much of the first half anyway.

It's going to be fun, I thought TAM and Mizzou handled themselves very well last weekend.

We'll see if they can keep it up throughout the season. I think Mizzou will.

To all of you guys that are in pick 'em leagues:

What places on the www do you typically go for information and analysis? Is there a day of the week that's especially good for college football dialogue?

Games I'm on the fence about this week:

Virginia Tech at Pittsburgh
Virginia at Georgia Tech
Florida at Tennessee
Arizona State at Missouri
Notre Dame at Michigan State

Which of these matchups look like upsets?

well I was way wrong on Auburn... but I think...

Virginia Tech rolling over Pitt.

Georgia Tech over Va

Florida over Tennessee

I think Mizzouri over ASU, but I don't know anything about ASU this year.

I think Michigan State over Notre Dame

Tennessee will probably beat Florida. Especially since they are at home.

Notre Dame reportedly is joining the ACC for everything but football.

I was heavily eyeing both a ND upset and a Mizzou upset. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on both of those. Thanks, team.

p.s. How open are the good folks in this thread to assisting the management of my weekly pick' em games?

Which just stinks of desperation from the ACC. No football? fuck. That's like taking a girl out every weekend then leaving her off and having some random dude come in after you leave to get between her legs.

ACC looks to have gotten some concessions for ND on football, too. I think they have to play 5 games against ACC opponents. I suspect they'll join up in full for football soon enough. Particularly once they realize it's the easiest/only way for them to qualify for a BCS game.
