I am not into their last album but I've heard that their past material is very interesting, so before I make up my mind about them, What would you recommend me to listen to, seems like they put a lot of albums before coming out in mainstream.

Go with The Moon and Antartica from 2001 (I think, maybe 2000). Its a fantastic album and is much better than Good News. Less pop and much darker. Haven't heard the Lonesome Crowded West but a lot of Modest Mouse fans love that too.

They got lucky on M&A which is their only good album. Lonesome Crowded West is tuneless indie rock garbage.

I used to really like them.. but I haven't enjoyed listening to them for quite a while. It may be a phase, I don't know.

Although, I always thought Moon and Antarctica was the best one. And I thought Good News was better than LCW. Building Nothing... didn't excite me.

Interesting that you guys only mentionned the same two albums.

So I listened to Moon & Antartica and the only song that did it for me was gravity rides everything.

I couldn't get hold of the other album talked about here but I stepped on to another one that I find to be really good:

everywhere and its nasty parlor tricks.

Try 'This Is A Long Drive Home.' It has a long title and it's a good listen.

And their best song opens the album.
