At least he didn't post "So he likes to kiss dudes." Some positive spin. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The first step to recovery is admitting the problem.

I want to hear the song in the teaser video on page one. I agree with everyone else so far that this new single isn't good.

You'll retract that first statement after one listen.

current Green Day seems like its focus demographic is the Glee crowd.

Yeah, that's hilariously awful. Almost to the point that I was waiting for a sexy dragon magic lyric.

Verging on "turn up the beat" bad. I'm rather  I created this thread now. But this is all the first record. It'll probably all be that cheesy and glossy. I'm hoping the Mike Dirnt record has all the sugary punk on it.

Just heard it.

It sounds like Maroon 5, a little bit Moves Like Jagger, but not as good.

And I can't even imagine that those lyrics are trying to be anything but awful.

i hate them and that song...its like they listened to some franz ferdinand and did the boring version.
I guess billie joe can have Christina Aguilera in their next record, as they are going to do that show together.
Also, this is what it seems their new video looks like:

Band play song while models lounge on couches ( straight from Rolling Stone)

:haha:

Well, I think probably yes. But regardless, even if there are other people wanting different music (there are, obvs) it's arguable that musical 'cliques' are disappearing in favour of TV-influenced ubercliques, of which there are far fewer. This is what my book Sociological Insights into Early 21st Century Living will postulate.
