recently, i've listened to push barman to open old wounds...it's my first Belle and Sebastian experience and i'm loving it....it's perfect for this gay/artsy mood i've been in musically lately

bought it last night. not competing with IYFS for my favorite, but then again nothing in their catalogue is. "sleep the clock around" might compete for my favorite B&S tune, though. "seymour stein" and "a space boy dream" are quite good too. this album didn't sound like what i expected it to, and i have no idea what pitchfork's problem with it is. i was expecting a watered-down IYFS, and i got some sort of mark mothersbaugh/nick drake amalgam.

:thumbz up:
Definitely a great album, Pitchfork seems to think that it's a self parody, but I really have no idea where they're coming from. I agree, "Sleep The Clock Around" really is one of their best tunes.
o rly? Personally that's probably my least favorite song off the new album, behind "Song For Sunshine." and it doesn't help that they come right after another on the album.

That's great news. Sleep Heads is really the only song I am familiar with...now I have something to look forward to with the rest of the album.
right now, belle and sebastian are my favorite band..i can't get enough
this will probably change in time though, team
it might not though. Belle & Sebastian are addicting.
and as we speak I'm compiling a super Belle & Sebastian best of mix. I'll post it when I'm done.
yes, yes they are....i probably shouldn't have said that though because i don't have the whole collection, but based on what i have, i just can't get enough here lately it seems

Am I the only person on this board that hates this band? Now, I don't mind twee pop, but this band really irritates me. I'd rather listen to the Orchids or early Sarah bands like Blueboy or Heavenly.
