They're loud as fuck, but I thought they were really boring when I saw them on the Mr. Beast tour. One of very few shows I've left early.
How odd. I've seen them a bunch and they were anything but boring. In fact, I've really enjoyed the Mogwai shows I've seen (and also had my ears ring for hours afterwords each time). Sorry they sucked when you saw them -- but they might be worth another shot. Maybe just a bad night.

Gonna see these guys in Milan. I really like the new album, it's not epic as Hawk or Young Team but tracks like Rano Pano, San Pedro and You're Lionel Richie are a joy to listen to. Plus the video for Rano Pano is killer!

what are my chances of hearing Auto Rock at a show? i'm pretty sure that would be an awesome experience.
Just saw them in Milano and they played Auto Rock. Incredible show, it was my first Mogwai gig. If, like me, you think the new album lacks the energy you know from the older albums, don't worry!! All the pieces of the puzzle will fall in place during the live performances.
I am so glad I also bought a ticket for tuesday in Paradiso, Amsterdam.

So I went to the two gigs in Milano and Amsterdam. My first Mogwai shows, they were incredible. I grabbed both setlists, ditched the double songs and created one big setlist out of both shows, trying to keep the songs in the order how they were played. Songs with * are played at both shows. Plays like a charm!
White Noise * Ithica 27/9 Rano Pano * Killing All The Flies Death Rays * Travel Is Dangerous How To Be A Werewolf * I Know You Are But What Am I? Hasenheide San Pedro * Christmas Steps I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead Auto Rock * New Pathis To The Helicon 1 You're Lionel Richie * Mexican Grand prix * ------------------------------ George Square Thatcher Death Party* Mogwai Fear Satan * Batcat
