I operated under the assumption that they'd never top If You're Feeling Sinister until I heard Life Pursuit, which is fucking AWESOME in an entirely different way. Fantastic record...not on Sinister's level, but it proves they COULD do that again. And that would severely fuck up my top 10 artists list.

i still haven't heard all of their cd's :oops:

but i do greatly enjoy each of those

I've only heard two songs by them. Boy with the Arab Strap, and Seeing other people. I really liked the former, but not so much the latter.

Where should I go from here?

boy with the arap strap is classic....i think seeing other people is pretty solid too, though it did have to grow on me a little bit

if i were you i'd check out the album Push Barman to Open Old Wounds....it's basically a collection of e.p.'s singles, b sides and stuff...so it spans most of their career, but the majority of the songs are as good or better than some of their regular album stuff

Hmm, while I also love the former, the latter is one of my favorite songs by the band. I'd reccomend Push Barman To Open Old Wounds for beginners, a compilation of all their non-album material, it gives a really nice look at the band's sound. then go for If You're Feeling Sinister or Tigermilk

I kind of got off this band after The Life Pursuit. I hardly ever listen to that album, and it sadly extended to B&S in general. One great thing I did when I bought my ipod last summer was divided the tracks on Push Barman into their respective singles tracklisting and attached the original artwork.

I currently have the I'm Waking Up To Us single playing, and after that will be the 3..6..9 Seconds of Light single and then probably the Dog On Wheels single. Tonight I plan on going to bed to If You're Feeling Sinister or The Boy With the Arab Strap.

I completely forgot about how good this band was. And now listening to them has the added bonus of nostalgia, considering how much I OD'd on them back in 2004-2005 when I first got into them.

It's so great when you can come back to a band after a long absence, isn't it?

I thought the Life Pursuit was pretty good. I never got hardcore into it. I've kinda been off this band for a good while now until the other day when I posted about them in your other thread. I somewhat OD'd on them as well at first, it was just the exact right music at that time for me
