That might have been true until you said you didn't like Jim James. Now your opinion is down 60%.

honestly though, why can't i dislike MMJ? I've listened to their music and seen them live and they really did nothing for me. Nothing about the band does anything for me.

Liking Bright Eyes whilst simultaneously disliking MMJ means you're doing something wrong, mecca.

I saw them open for PJ and barely paid attention. I saw them substitute for EV at bridge and though it was fine. I then started reading RM regularly and gave the band a real listen (circa Feb 2008).

I now listen to MMJ more than any other band, including Pearl Jam.

It Still Moves and No Code are my favorite 2 albums ever.

Those of you that don't like MMJ need to listen to At Dawn and It Still Moves on repeat until you get it.

Yup. Over the last 2 years, MMJ has surpassed PJ as my favorite band. It's weird...I got into them the same way you did. I saw them at that bridge school show too when they were filling in for vedder, and then I fell in love with it still moves. At Dawn has become one of my favorite albums ever.

After reading the MMJ thread on here post bridge, I listened to At Dawn on repeat for weeks and for a while I thought that was my favorite album. For the last year I think It Still Moves is slightly better only because At Dawn gets a little slow (for lack of a better word) at the end. The only album I own that gets as much play as It Still Moves is Cold Roses by Ryan Adams.

It's ok. Neither PJ or MMJ take my favorite band spot. :P

Pretty sure The Tennessee Fire is my favorite MMJ record at this point. At Dawn and It Still Moves are certifiable masterpieces, but I find myself returning to the shambling late-night beauty of TTF more than either of those these days.

Tennessee Fire is fucking awesome. That album might have the biggest influence on the music that I write nowadays.

So this song is pretty much up there with the Fixer for me. All that could have been.

boring boring boring crap

ftfy

i'm pretty sure bart made his judgement on hearing a overtly political bushleauger type b-side. bart, give digital ash in a digital urn or lifted a spin. then your witty retorts on this topic will be as welcomed as your witty retorts on topics not including jim james and conor oberst
