Do they have enough material to do one?

is there any interest in a jane's song tourney?
When I saw Lollapalooza in '03, half (not an exaggeration) of the people left after Audioslave because they didn't want to stick around for the "headliner" Jane's Addiction.
My answer is no.

Me, too. You and I shared a link long before we met through the interwebs.

Jane's Addiction from 2001-2003 was a completely different band than the janes from 1986-1991. The original version was one of the best and most influentual bands that existed, imo.
Even with that, I'd easily take the 2003 janes over audioslave. I attended that lollapalooza as well and thought Chris Cornell sounded terrible and the members of Rage looked incredibly bored.

kids today..... Washed up Jane's Addiction on their worst day is still better than anything Audioslave ever did.

I would tend to disagree.

I was one of those people that stayed after Audioslave in 2003 because I was really excited to see Jane's Addiction. I loved their old stuff and even loved Strays.
I was let down big time. Not a good show, and the one song encore of "Jane Says" just seemed like a "we don't feel like playing anymore but we didn't do this one yet" performance.

I saw them in 03 on Lolla and was really impressed. It was probably a bad move on their part that they had to go on after Audioslave, but they played a great set. A lot of people did leave but the ones that stayed loved them.

At one time, Jane's might have been my favorite band, but I've kind of ignored any of their post-1991 output. I have Strays DL'd on my HD, but I haven't brought myself to listen to it.
On that note, I don't think there's enough material to do a tourney. Unless everyone gets one song. Of course, I barely thought Pink Floyd had enough material to do a tourney.

I actually like Strays quite a bit and considering the time lapse between the albums, it sounds surprisingly fluid with the rest of their work. You should give it a listen.

I'd even go as far as 1997.
Nothing's Shocking and Ritual De Lo Habitual should be owned by any fan of rock music. Both are nearly flawless and massively influential.
