Scottish slow-burn post-rock kings Mogwai report on their website that their new album comes baring the ridiculously badass title Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. It'll be out February 14 in Europe via the band's own Rock Action label, and one day after that, their new North American label Sub Pop will release it over here.

Paul Savage, producer of the band's landmark Young Team album, once again manned the boards for this one, and we've got the tracklist below. Let's all pause an imagine how a Mogwai song called "You're Lionel Richie" might possibly sound. A limited edition version of the album will come with a bonus CD containing the 26-minute long piece "The Singing Mountain", which was originally recorded for Monument for Forgotten Future, an art installation in Essen, Germany by Douglas Gordon and Olaf Nicolai.

Early next year, the band will tour Europe, Japan, and America. We've got their dates below.

Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will:

01 White Noise
02 Mexican Grand Prix
03 Rano Pano
04 Death Rays
05 San Pedro

NICE!

Saw these guys in Chicago just before Mr. Beast came out--I had compromised hearing for about four hours. You feel this stuff in your bones. Awesome band.

**Something poetic about a new Mogwai record (especially one with this title) coming out on Valentine's Day.

Yes, loudest show I ever saw was either Mogwai or Dinosaur Jr.

Looking forward to hearing the new record.

I'm reviewing this for "Alternative Press!"

It sounds great so far. No real surprises, but Mogwai fans should have ample cause to get stoked.

Only played it once so far, but it's a lot crunchier than the last one--more distortion, probably more dynamic sound-wise. "Hawk is Howling" is one of my favorite Mogwai albums, though. I love the mood it sustains, and I think a lot of the little melodic nuances are really brilliant. Going strictly off the first listen (which, admittedly, isn't enough with Mogwai), I'd probably rate it a little lower than "Hawk" overall, but somewhat more varied. Like I said, no big surprises, but if you've been a fan of Mogwai's last few discs, this should prove quite enjoyable.

They're loud as fuck, but I thought they were really boring when I saw them on the Mr. Beast tour. One of very few shows I've left early.
