So I was enjoying my last day of vacation yesterday before I had to come back to work and ended up pulling out a couple of Rush albums I own, but hadn't listened to in quite awhile, which gave me the idea to put together a Rush mix with some of my favorites. My main goal was to put together a mix of lesser known cuts that aren't overplayed by radio. And without further ado.... The Rush
Bastille Day - Live
Closer to the Heart
New World Man
YYZ - Live
Anthem
Where's My Thing (Pt. 4 "Gangster of Boats" Trilogy)
What You're Doing - Live
The Trees
A Passage to Bangkok - Live
Roll the Bones
La Villa Strangiato
I've got a bit of space left on an 80 min disc so throw me some suggestions to fill this out if you have any

Not to hate or anything but I can't help but imagine what if. What if the band had a lead singer that didn't sound like a cat that was being declawed, They got a great bass, great guitarist and a great fuckin drummmer but man, lyrics and vocals, so bad.

i always said that i really like rush but if they had a different singer theyd be one of the best bands ever..said the same about acdc too..i love them both musically but the hight pitched voices sometimes drive me nuts
aside from that i throw in rush greatest hits every now and then and its cool

I should also mention that I was planning to put some tracks from Presto on there, but I started listening to clips from that album on Itunes and realized I need to go ahead and buy a copy of it on CD. I had the tape back in the day, and it was pretty much my introduction to non-radio Rush, so of course it has extra meaning to me, but Presto is really a pretty good return to form for Geddy & Co. after their somewhat shaky mid-to-late 80's material

Y'know, I can see where some people might not dig Geddy's singing, but I've always thought the lyrics were pretty o.k., Granted they have some out there sci-fi type lyrical shit sometimes, but that just goes along with their prog tendancies.
ive started getting into Rush in the last couple months, and theyre slowly (or quickly, i dunno) becoming one of my favorite bands. right now i have moving pictures, 2112, and a Farewell to Kings, and i love all of them. I can see why people would hate the vocals and lyrics, but i kinda like them, if nothing else because theyre a little bit unique

Rush take their lyrics from philosophy 101:
IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO DECIDE YOU STILL HAVE MADE A CHOICE!
I WILL CHOOSE FREE WILL!

closer to the heart is like AOR frontline fodder. i'd replace it with something from counterparts.
