He doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves around here. His first 5 albums are all great. He's a great singer/songwriter (much better than Don Henley or Glen Frey, imo) and seems like a very down to earth guy. I passed up with opportunity to see in a few years ago, and am still kicking myself for that.

Running on Empty is a masterpiece. The Pretender isn't far behind either. Great artist.

i started a thread about JB awhile back and i didn't get one single response! the guy is fantastic, my dad got me into him and neil young at quite an early age.

he is fantastic live, iv seen him twice, once with his band and a show from his solo acoustic tour. he was taking requests from the audience during that gig. it was amazing how he could remember just about any song from any of thirteen or so albums!

He seems like such a down to earth guy listening to the Solo Acoustic cd. I love his story about singing Peacful Easy Feeling.

yeh he comes across really well.

at the solo concert i went to the first thing he said before he played anything was, 'its great to be black in glasgow' he meant to say 'back'..i couldn't stop laughing..then he launched straight into barricades of heaven.

he did something that was fantastic.
he released a bunch of new songs on tour with a live album rather then a studio album.

i think i might start getting his stuff

hes always been in the back of my head, and the above performance speaks volumes about the guy. hes never changed his look to try to fit in, he looks like he genuinely has a good time playing his songs that are considered his "hits" while most bands will tell you in a heartbeat they hate playing XXXXXXX its not who they are

sadly, i think i only know 4 of his songs

load out/stay
tender is the night
pretender
lawyers in love

and he did a duet with clarence clemmons in the early 80s

I'm taking my mom to see him 11-1. She is a big fan, but I love many of his songs as well. I would love to hear Birds of St. Marks. His records were playing in the house a lot when I was growing up.
