When I saw the list on the overrated bands thread I was stunned to see how many popular bands or singers are considered "overrated".. even though there is no explanation as to why ?
Made me wonder what bands you consider underrated?

THE DOORS - i don't know why, theyre fuckin great........
THE STONE ROSES
THE VERVE - its a shame, everybody knows "bittersweet symphony".....the debut is a masterpiece, the second album is fuckin great, urban hymns is probably the worst (but is great anyway)

Days of the New - when Travis Meeks fired his band nobody cared except a small amount of people. The Green album proved that this guy is pure genius. Such a great song-writer with an amazing vision. Too bad most people lumped them as an AIC rip-off. Listen to Green and then Red and try to say the same thing

I don't know how anyone can say Rush is underrated. Pretty much everyone I know who can even play basic chords or keep a beat knows they're really talented musicians. Songwriting, on the other hand...

1. Pearl Jam-Honestly, all you hear about is Ten (not reffering to the boards), Ten was good, but you know they have several other better albums out that that. One of the greatest live bands in R&R history. Very underappreciated for their excellent work
2. Soundgarden-Other than this board, I don't know anybody that knows who they are. One of the most musically tallented bands in R&R history.
3. The Who-Overshadowed by Led Zeppelin. The Who have several great songs but you never hear them. They are the greatest live band in R&R history, and still kicking ass today.

I agree with you 100%, they really are a great band that hardly anyone knows about. They were supposed to release another cd (purple), i have no clue whatever happened with that
