I heard her last album is great. Any song suggestions for me to check?
Bang, Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) - This one was used near the beginning of Kill Bill Vol. 1, awesome song.
These Are Made For Walkin' - Classic.
In My Room - My favorite NS song. Heartbreaking.
Friday's Child
Lady Bird
Down From Dover - Amazing. It sounds like she breaks down into tears near the end.
It Ain't Me Baby - Very cool. She sounds really insecure.
Sand
Somethin' Stupid (Duet with Frank Sinatra)
The Shadow of Your Smile
Sorry 'Bout That
Lightning's Girl - Goes into a bridge mid-song that sounds like pure chaos. Totally unexpected.
Sundown, Sundown
She has so many amazing songs.
BTW, some of those may be listed as being by Lee Hazelwood, they're the same song, they did a lot of duets together.
is she the one who sang....these boots were made for walk'n and that's what they will do...these boots were made for walk'n and one of these days these boot are gonna all all over you....

yes sir, amongst many other hits. I love her voice. She was quite a babe in the 60's! she would have made the red mosquito "hot girl" thread!

It's nice to see a thread dedicated to her! I think she has a very sultry, soft voice that is original to her because she sings songs that complement her voice and vice versa. Her voice is menacingly eery, particularly on songs like "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)," but it's still sexy and womanly. She was a hip, hip chick.

I thought it was Patsy Cline that did These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

I just bought the latest issue of Blender magazine and found a review for her latest self-titled album. I'm not sure when it's due out, but it has some interesting collaberators. Among them are Morrissey, Sonic Youth's Jim O'Rourke and Thurston Moore, Jon Spencer, Pete Yorn, U2, and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker and Richard Hawley. So it sounds like she has a great lineup of musicians on her side there, and I'm looking forward to hearing this album!
I loved seeing that review. That was the first I'd heard that she was even making another album, now at 64 years young. It was a pleasant surprise, and from what I'm hearing, the actual listen will be very lovely as well. Maybe I'll type up that review later here...
