.. what should I expect besides getting the fuck beaten out of myself? How are they live? I've heard that they are hit or miss and it really depends on how drunk they get. So anyone seen them?

I thought they were pretty damn good live. When i saw them there wasnt much of a "pit" though. Their music isnt really fast enough for a real "pit".

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT THE OPENING ACT. DREDG FUCKIN ROCKS.

I've seen 'em two times

the first time was at the Pinkpop-festival and they sucked big time. It was like one big wall of noise and chino was all drunk and stuff. They pretty much fucked up all their songs.

the second time I saw them with openingband A Perfect Circle. If it wasn't for APC to open, I wouldn't have gone to see them. Again, they sucked. They were all stoned (Chino said they'd been visiting coffeeshops all they in Rotterdam) and fucked up many songs. I was like: 'I'm not going to pay some band and they just get fuckin stoned on my money to fuck up a show'.

I decided I would never again in my life go and see Deftones live (well, maybe if APC opens for them again:)). Maybe it is a hit or miss kinda band, but then I had two big misses after eachother.

I will. I love Dredg and I was very excited when I heard they were opening.

The only reason I really was thinking that I'd get my ass kicked was because I've seen some live videos of their shows and the crowd is just ridiculous. Granted, these were huge hard rock festivals and the venue I'm seeing them at only holds 1500, but we'll see. Should be cool.

i've seen them twice... both times they were amazing, but especially the last time, which was about 1 year ago...
it was the best non-pearl jam concert i've ever seen... just an incredible performance, high energy, sound was amazing, and the setlist could not have been better.

Holy shit, Chino! You've only seen the band you're in play twice?

But really, what dates did you see them on?

i saw them once about a year ago. it was fun, i was drenched in sweat and exhausted by the end. the setlist was great and the band sounded pretty good too. i definitely think they're past their prime though. chino has screamed himself stupid.

technically i can't see myself play while i'm performing 8)

the first time i saw them was 2000 i believe, it was the white pony tour that they did w/ glassjaw and some other band that i can't remember.

last november i saw them on their tour for the self-titled album, they had thrice and thursday open up for them.
it was unbelievable. i'm not a fan of that self-titled record but they only played 3 songs from it (or maybe 4)... the rest of the set consisted of all of their older songs, a lot of white pony tracks, almost the entire around the fur album, and like 4 songs from adrenaline.
AND... they played their depeche mode cover of "to have and to hold", and their duran duran cover of "the chauffeur", and for they encore they played "7 words" but in the middle of the song they started playing "say it aint so" by weezer, they played most of that song before going back into "7 words".
just an amazing show.

I have an mp3 of them covering El Scorcho. It's pretty amusing.

ya i had mp3's of their weezer covers (they've done, say it aint so, el scorcho, my name is jonas, world has turned.. i dont know if they've done more) and most of them sounded pretty bad.
but maybe they weren't that drunk/high at this concert b/c it sounded really good.
like the other ones almost sounded more of a joke then a real cover, but this sound like a legitimate attempt.
