I've only heard 'Work' and I wasn't terribly impressed, that's probably beacuse I'm not a big JEW fan. Listen close and you'll hear Liz Phair's backround vocals on Work

I got the double disc set, the one with the second disc being all the demo versions on the song that are on the cd. The demo versions are actually BETTER than the album versions, but both rock an unnatural amount! So don't fret, they're up to 4 GREAT albums and some good eps!
It's only going to be out for a little while I think, but yeah, the double disc set is out right now for about 17 dollars if you're lucky. It's definitely worth it though, so don't fret.

I got this album for my b-day (twice haha :p) and i've gone through 7 out of the 11 songs on this album, and I am really digging it. To me, it is along the same vein as Clarity, but w/more powerful and personal lyrics. As Jimmy Eat World said, they are doing this album for themselves and they don't care whether people hate it or not.
i can't wait to see them in San Francisco next month!!!

it's not really jock-cock-rock though... [/quote]
lol....oh yeah damn.....
i haven't got futures (although i am buying it on my next trip to the local cd store) but i like their previous stuff. how does it compare to their older work?
I dont know why i missed this thread, but it's cool there are such differing opinions (except GEG. He seems to hate everything)
I think this album is a great step forward for them in an "indie" direction. It's a very dark record (i've picked up quite a few songs that seem to deal with drugs and particularly their effect on others). I think it's almost their "Vitalogy" to some extent. Bleed American was a huge success for them, and they possibly want to take a step in a diffrent direction.
I'm also pretty ceritan that "Futures" is about the election.
