Got a ticket to see Disappears and Lotus Plaza in a couple of weeks. Tonight Magnetic Fields and Kelly Hogan
Kelly Hogan is great. Dude, track down a copy of Silkworm's Italian Platinum. Trust me. She sings lead only on this track, but the whole album is killer.

I will. But right now all I can think about is getting a copy of that Mickey Newbury release.

The box set? or the Smog split? The Box is great, I snagged that back in September.
Trying to get tickets to the Alabama Shakes show tonight. I assumed I'd be able to get tickets pretty easily since it's a decent-sized venue, but apparently this band has blown up more than I thought they had.

I had no idea Bart D. was part of the DMV. Alabama Shakes in Baltimore? Radiohead in DC? I'm honored to live in your presence.
I just punched a ticket for Ted Leo & The Pharmacists at the Black Cat at the end of the month. Brendan Canty's filming for a DVD, just like he did for Eddie and Water On The Road. I think one gig sold out so they added another one a few days before.

Very much looking forward to seeing Alabama Shakes open for Jack White in New York. Hold On has been getting a fair amount of play, at least on WEHM, and they were nuymber four in the weekly top ten for Entertainment Weekly.

lol the Mansfield Radiohead show still isn't sold out! It must be because nobody wants to hang out on the lawn with me
I cant believe that. I assumed when I didnt get tickets right away that I wouldnt be able to go, then I got a lawn seat like 2 weeks later.
Remember when the lawn there was twice as big and awesome?
That place has gone way downhill the last 5 years or so.
It's ridiculous how far it has fallen.
The place itself is really nice, it's just everything else about it now sucks. The new lawn set-up blows, the beer prices are out of this world(and I know you are going to pay through the ass for beer at any concert venue, but Mansfield is ridiculous, a bud light in a can costs like 3 more dollars there than a draft UFO does at the fleet center.) The security is nazi-ish, and if you dont park in that lot right off the road the whole parking, tailgating, and leaving experience blows.

This Radiohead thing reminds how surprised I was that there wasnt a single person on the lawn at Soundgarden. There was so few people there I was behind the band's bus on the highway when I left, and I stayed until the last gun was fired.

Exactly. I'm still considering the Radiohead show though.
