Just got my ticket for Kathleen Edwards at The Met in Providence RI, April 30. Really glad I didn't get a ticket for Boston when it was announced, because The Met is like 3 miles from my house. Great little club, good sound, pretty much perfect sircumstances.
There were a few rough years for Providence live music before The Met opened in September 2010. Lupos is apparently just a little too big or expensive to book (or something I don't understand) for most small-mid sized/indie bands to play there anymore. But now, we have this smaller alternative option, and I get a nice surprise every few months when a really fucking cool band (that would have probably headlined Lupos back in 2005 or something before attendance started to sag) goes out of their way to hit up Prov.
Converge will also be there April 1st, I'm heavily considering that one too.
I decided not to spend 90 bucks on Radiohead in Mansfield. I saw them in 2008 and it was glorious, so they are crossed off my list, but it would be nice if I had that 90 bucks. I decided to hold on to the cash and see bands I haven't seen, like Kathleen, who was only 20 bucks + $5.85 convenience nutgrab.
The 5/26 DMB show should be really good, a ton of people that would normally see them in Mansfield are opting for this show instead.
Nice, the during the week gigs kinda suck. I'd love to make a weekend out of Camden and even Mansfield again, there's just zero to do near there (Mansfield) if I remember correctly.

Bass Drum Of Death What Made Milwaukee Famous Shearwater x 2 Of Monsters And Men Blitzen Trapper Built To Spill Nico Vega Imagine Dragons The Black Angels
Decided I'm not gonna go to Jane's Addiction in May. They've kind of passed for me. They're nothing but they're first two official LPs and I don't want to pay $120 for 2 tickets when I want to see 1990 JA. I will concede that there's numerous songs on Strays that I enjoy but haven't even listened to TGEA.
