I've been working on this one all week cuz there are friends I wanted to give it to on friday and I won't see them for months afterwards. But I can always revise this later if people have comments or suggestions.
Also I may torrent this, but if not, and if you are interseted, pm me and we can do a B+P (I've got the dvds--Id just need the envelopes)
It's 40 discs, 600 songs--38 of 80s stuff and two discs of 90s songs that belonged in the 80s. This is also a LOT more diverse than the 70s one (basically classic rock) and 90s ('alternative').
The songs had to have been released in the 80s to qualify. The one exception is the dukes of hazzard theme, which was 79 but since the show ran through half the 80s I counted it

Ignore these fools...you even had the foresight to include the glorious Joe Esposito's "You're the Best.' Fantastic, and totally without vanity. Just add Joan Crawford, or at least Veteran of the Psychic Wars, and I will rank this as an A+. It really is ingenious, and it has already encouraged me to purchase $8 worth of songs off iTunes.

I'm not going to read any of that. I thought the idea of a best of was to pare out the shit, and be left with the cream

The tears for fears stuff is in there, and there are a couple of cure songs
I've put this disclaimer in the 70s and 90s ones. This is entirely a nostalgia set. With the exception of the few tom waits songs (and maybe 1 or 2 REM songs but its my set and so it'll reflect my tastes just a little) the point of this is to be a flashback. And my friends are neither music historians, snobs, or conniseurs. The point is that every song on here should make you smile with recognition and trigger some kind of memory
And I pity the person who can't listen to the final countdown and enjoy it for what it is--even if the only thing it makes you think of is arrested development. Enough time has passed to make it harmless

Well thanks for letting me know. Otherwise I would have seen your lack of post in this thread and been haunted by the lack of knowledge as to whether or not Echoes had read this. You've saved me an existenstial crisis. If only the other 8270ish users who may or may not read this thread could be as courteous as you I could rest easily tonight.
That's right Norman Smiley, Maestro, aNiMal, and Test User. I'm talking about you. Be more like Echoes.

I'll have to look at it more carefully, but there's a few songs that I saw missing that should be on there... -Weird Al "Dare to Be Stupid" -Ozzy "Bark at the Moon" -Dio "Holy Diver", "Rainbow in the Dark" -Bon Jovi "Born to Be My Baby", "I'll Be There For You" -And the songs in that PM I sent you.
Other than that, well done.
