I recently purchased 2 REM tickets from their website, for 55 pounds each (the one time in my life when I need that symbol and it's nowhere to be found :|). This has ended up costing me $305 aussie once you include currency conversion and I don't know how many extra processing fees. They don't even send the tickets out until late february. I could have got them cheaper through fucking ticketmaster ! This from REM for christ's sake. I'd hate to be a Rolling Stones or Eagles fan or something.
What ridiculous prices have you paid/heard about?

well, I payed $50 US dollars a piece to see REM this year. the total cost was $139 for 2 people... Which is way to expensive for my wallet.

But that's not the most expensive I've seen around. Sting probably isn't rich enough or need to buy another castle, his concerts cost $250 a piece.. that's outrageous!

After viewing the VFC final I was excited because i have never seen REM live before and i talked myself into saying i need to check them out. I knew they were playing in my area soon so I went to ticketbastard to get tickets. 55 dollars before the ticketbastard fees

Thats insane. I don't understand why they need to be so high. I did not go to the show because of the ticket price.

REM is banking on the fact that most of their fans nowadays can afford higher ticket prices.

I think the most expensive concert I went to was Simon and Garfunkel (ours were $90 each, but the floor seats at MSG went for $300+).

$50 seems to be the normal price of tickets now (that's what I paid for the Pixies).

i usually see smaller bands... so the most i've paid this year (not counting PJ on the VFC tour) was like 20 bucks for ben folds

edit: i forgot about bob dylan... so aside from bobby d and PJ the 20 bucks was like the cheapest.

Prices for some bands are insane. but it's all the bullshit ticketmaster charges that really get you in the end.
