Donald Fagen was only 24 when all the songs you know--"Reelin'", "Midnight Cruiser", "Do It Again" etc. came out.
Steely Dan called it quits when he was 33--that is one year younger than Josh Homme is now.
It's difficult to believe that someone could be so refined at such a young age, but it's all true.
It might just be that you're such philistines that it's that very refinement that upsets you, not the age of the band. I wouldn't put it past you. But I've presented you with the facts in order that you can correct your opinion.

wow, it's even sadder that someone in their twenties would make 'old people' music, but it does happen. steely dan were like the michael buble of the 70s.

You don't have to go to crazy. How about a handful of songs that you think represent the band the best. Some catchy stuff, stuff that will make me want to buy an album or something.
I know they have a "revolving" lineup, or they use alot of session players in the studio.

I'm checking those albums out as we speak. They seem like something I could get the hang of though. I listened to Aja a couple times before, but didn't really let it soak in.

When I trash bands, people always say I like "old people music", it's always the "old people music" insult. Very few records are made by old people. It's almost impossible to get a record contract if you're old. Most of the stuff people think of as "old people music" was made by young people and listened to by young people. I'm clearing up this misconception for you.
