mowbs is definitely your man on this one, but I'm going to say 36 Chambers.

I just looked at the tracklist for the hits collection and realized that 7 of the 12 songs from 36 Chambers are on it. So maybe that's not too necessary at the moment.
I don't know how much you know about Wu, but they have a pretty large catalogue being that there are 9 members, and they have each had multiple solo releases. There are definitely some lackluster efforts among them, but take my word for it that a lot of the solo albums are as good, if not better than their best collective moments.
Anyway, I don't know how far you are willing to dig, but the two most essential solo albums are GZA's Liquid Swords and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. The two clan albums you should chekc out are their first two - Forever and 36 Chambers. Like I said earlier, you've already heard the majority of 36 already.
If you like the greatest hits, I'm confident you'll enjoy the four albums I recommended. Listen to them in any order. Actually, look into Forever after the other three since it's a double disc.
