69 Love Songs - good album. 69 songs, some very good, some not (with 69 songs, what would you expect). I'm not a huge fan of the guy's vocal style either, its a bit too old-school for me (kind of a bad Johnny Cash ripoff almost?). But they have some nice melodies especially when the girl in the band joins him.

I've come very close to buying this album many times..

But three CDs... means paying for three CDs. If it was a single album price, I would have owned this for years now. I just don't know if i can fork over the dough.

Lately, I've gotten to the point where I can't enjoy an album unless I can see and smell the liner notes. :?

I would say 95% of my music listening since Spring of '09 or so has been Magnetic Fields.

I know what you mean. Just trying to absorb 69 love songs in it's entirety takes a few weeks at least.

I'm just starting to get into him, but "Charm Of The Highway Strip" (the one with Long Vermont Roads) is really stellar. After a few listens it's starting to sound like an album made specifically for me.

Has anyone seen Strange Powers? It's pretty good.
