Been listening to Mirror Ball a lot this week. I hope someday Neil and PJ hook up again and make another record.

Only if Jack Irons plays drums.

I finally saw him last night here outside DC. Great show. Sonic Youth ain't got shit on Neil in terms of feedback and noise. Fuckin' awesome gig and I'm happy I can cross him off my list of must see's.

NY was great on the Daily Show (go to their website, the interview actually went 6 more mins after the show was off the air so dont watch it on your DVR)

And i just came up with a great idea the other night.....
they say a PJ/Soundgarden tour cant happen with Matt drumming for both?
so ya grab Jack... and Neil...

Eddie and Neil open together solo
Soundgarden with Matt
Neil Young wPearl Jam wJack on drums
mega jam encore Fucking Up, RITFW with all

sounds like a slice of heaven

I need to remind myself that Crazy Horse records are akin to caffeine, not to be consumed past 9:00 pm if you care to wake up at a respectable hour the next day.

Downloaded Psychedelic Pill today, will have a chance to listen to it tomorrow. To the NY&CH fans out there, how does this album hold up against previous work?

The songwriting is generally weaker but the jam sections are absolutely on par.

$120 for 1 ticket, whereas I saw him 3 years ago for half of that. Sorry Neil, it'll be without me.

I just paid $156!

Still, it's Neil and the Horse. Shut up and take my money and so forth.

Well, if you can afford it and it's worth it for you, all the better. Enjoy it!

I wish I'd overpaid to see Bruce.

Nice!

I saw him back in 00. Well, I saw him with CSN. But Neil took that show over. They played a ton of his solo stuff. He was loud and wild. It was outstanding. Truly one of the greatest I've ever seen.

So glad you got to experience his live show. That's really awesome.

Listened to the full album. Spot on analysis here. I really enjoy it still, and it had me going back to older NY&CH albums.

I'm listening to "Year of the Horse" for the first time right now. It's great--tight performances, and Neil's voice is spot-on--sometimes it's easy to miss how much capacity he's lost just in the last ten years or so.

Yeah...with artists with long careers I tend to over-compartmentalize. I need to break the mindset of Neil's late 90s work as still being somewhat recent. PJ's late 90s work was ages ago...these 2 things don't jive, being as they're literally from the same time period.

And he has lost quite a bit since then in vocal dexterity, as well.
