I hate them and almost refuse to buy them. In my opinion, no one should ever release just a greatest hits album. The sad thing is greatest hits is almost all my parents buy. It's a sad day. I know you all agree.

They aren't all bad. One of the first albums i ever bought was The Doors greatest hits and it basically introduced me to classic rock. Without that album I might still be listening to just rap

There are some very good greatest hits albums, for example...
Queen: The Platinum Collection
The Essential Clash
Nirvana
Alice In Chains: Nothing Safe
And Led Zeppelin has a lot of good ones too, but they have too many classics, they're always missing those one or two extra that will push it into the perfect Zepp compilation.

It's ok in some instances, but most of the time it does kinda bother me... usually only if I care enough about the band to care.... eg. pj
