I took a music appreciation class a few years ago and we watched a video where all these people praised him and stuff

If you like J.S. Bach, you should consider visiting http://www.jsbach.org Its been in my list of favourite places for a while now.

We play some of the Bach cantatas and arias in band. I love Wie schon leuchtet der Morgenstern (BWV 1) and Glecichwie der Regen und Schnee vom HImmel fallt (BWV 18 ). I also love his violin concertos and the Brandenburg Suite.

Bach is one of my favourite classical composers.

On a semi related note, I'm considering purchasing a welcome mat that reads "Gone now, Bach later. Offenbach sooner." I got a kick out of that.

Haha, that's cool in a dorky way.

It would be difficult to pick one favorite piece of his, because he was one of my favorite composers, but I would have to put "Air" somewhere in the top. It's so beautiful and as the title suggests, very ethereal, light and airy. It was also used to great effect in "Se7en," in the scene of contemplation from Morgan Freeman in the library and Brad Pitt looking over photographs from the crimes. I listen to that all the time, maybe more than any other of the pieces. Beautiful, beautiful.
