What's to get? This is probably the most instantly accessible music I've latched onto this year. Great production/beats/hooks backing up solid songs and a really strong voice.
I've just come from the Kanye thread, and.. well, I don't know what's in the RM water lately, but I'm not drinking any.
To me, 'instantly accessible' means 'instantly likeable', which means 'good.' This isn't. Here in the UK, she'll be playing alongside JLS on T4 on the Beach.

Yeah...what's the deal with her being really popular with people who normally hate dance music?
So she's like the Wu-Tang of vacuous dance music?
Exactly. Illogical, undeserved respect for the same mindless music from an artist that hasn't really differentiated herself from the same boring repetitive crowd..

I'm not a fan of Kanye (or much rap at all, really), but there have been fans of both in OB for as long as I can remember. Are you shocked that people here are discussing Kanye's super-hyped record?

Not shocked, or surprised. It was hyperbole. But I don't like it. He's now got all diamond teeth, and when he was asked why he did it, he said 'Because that's what rockstars do.' I don't think he even knows what genre of music he plays, and regardless, he's a bit up himself if he thinks his 'beatz' are going to be remembered in the rock hall of fame.
I know he has fans on RM but I don't care how interesting he used to be, I'm surprised that he hasn't just been dropped for being a deluded moron.
