MOTLEY CRUE ANNOUNCES CRUE FEST 2
March 2009
Image
Last Summer's Most Successful Rock Festival Returns - Public Ticket Pre Sale Begins March 2nd

Motley Crue, along with some of rock's top touring acts, will hit the road again this summer for Crue Fest 2: The White Trash Circus. The Live Nation produced tour will visit cities across North America beginning July 19th in Camden, NJ through September 5th in Darien Lake, NY. Full tour details, including the line up, will be revealed at a major press conference broadcast from FUSE TV studios in New York on March 16th, before Motley Crue hits the stage at Madison Square Garden that evening.

Crue Fest 2 pre sale tickets will be available exclusively to Motley Crue fan club members beginning on February 25th. Beginning on March 2nd, pre sale tickets will be available to the public. Fans can go to http://www.cruefest2.com for all pre sale information.

Last summer's multi-artist inaugural Crue Fest was the most successful touring rock festival of the summer season. Crue Fest was also the number ten tour overall for the summer of 2008, according to Rolling Stone. Featuring Motley Crue, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx:A.M. and Trapt, the festival played for nearly half a million rock fans to Live Nation amphitheaters and arenas in 40 cities across North America. Says Motley's Tommy Lee, "Last year at Crue Fest, we set out to have more fun than humans are allowed to have. We succeeded beyond that. This year, we are going to top that and I guarantee we will."

As part of the robust integrated marketing and partnerships, the activities surrounding the announcement of this year's line-up and ticket on-sale include launch parties in local venues and in-theater special screenings of a performance documentary on Crue Fest 1, which will also be released on DVD on March 24th. More details on all of these activities are available at http://www.motley.com

How can you top a lineup as stellar as Motley Crue, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx:A.M. and Trapt? Maybe this year they can convince Limp Bizkit to join their travelling freak show of irrellevent meathead rock.

Too bad Dr. Feelgood had some shit songs like "She Goes Down" and "Time For a Change". Otherwise, I'd probably be interested. Although I would like to hear "Sticky Sweet", "Slice of Your Pie" and "Rattlesnake Shake" all done live. :?

I like his suggestions in bold below.

Tommy Lee Plots Methods Of Mayhem Album
Image

January 21, 2009 10:49 AM ET

Gary Graff, Detroit
Tommy Lee is ready for a little mayhem -- and not just with Motley Crue.

The drummer, who kicks off the Crue's Saints of Los Angeles Tour on Jan. 31 in Indio, Calif., tells Billboard.com that he's started work on his second Methods of Mayhem album, following up the group's platinum 1999 debut.

DJ Aero and guitarist Kai Marcus are still on board, and Lee's producing partner Scott Humphrey "is starting to get involved" as the songs are formulating.

"We're just getting all the ideas together now," reports Lee, who released two solo projects -- 2002's "Never a Dull Moment" and 2005's "Tommyland: The Ride" -- since the "Methods of Mayhem" album. "We're gonna start tracking as soon as Motley is done (touring) at the end of March, and hopefully I'll have it ready by April/May and done by the top of June."

He describes the new material "as out of control ... pretty new and crazy-sounding. There's some ridiculously banging hard rock tunes and electro dance-rock." But, Lee adds, "There's no hip-hop anywhere around it at all." He plans to have some guests on the album, but in moderation compared to the flock of big names on "Methods of Mayhem." "I'm just gonna be mindful of how many and where their parts are," Lee explains, "so they're not major parts that'll be missed when we go and play live."

Lee says he wouldn't mind having Methods of Mayhem on the Crue Fest II tour, which is slated to go out in July, "like Nikki (Sixx) did with Sixx AM last year. That'd be killer."

As for the rest of the Crue Fest II lineup, Lee says it's still being discussed. "There's offers going around all over the place," he says. "Rob Zombie's name came up. Godsmack. Alice Cooper. I'd like to switch it up, add a little bit more variety this year."

Lee says the movie adaptation of the Crue biography "The Dirt" is still "just trying to find all the right catalysts." He expects we're more likely to see a follow-up to 2008's Grammy-nominated "Saints of Los Angeles," which was the Crue's first set of new material in eight years.

"We haven't really talked about making a new record," Lee says, "but maybe we'll write one on the road this summer and have it ready for next winter. I don't think (the long gap) is going to happen again. That would be terrible if it did."

I'd take Miley Cyrus over those bands any day. At least her performances become tolerable with the sound off.

:haha:

Only part of a crue show that's good! That's about it! Vince Neil's singing is aweful! Saw them here at the Metro Centre 2 year's ago. So much problems with the sound, lights, .. all around performance. Live 8, when they played Barrie, seeing them on TV just cracked me up! Well, his vocals aren't that so bad compared to AC/DC's singer. Sound's like he's taking a dump or something. lol

When I saw them on the Carnival of Sins tour and Vince did ok but towards the end of the show, you could tell he was gettin winded and only singing keywords in the song. I'm sure he's got good days and bad days.
Everyone else was on their game, even Mick.

he's always said he doesn't want to do the same setup as previous tours, but one never knows.
