Okay somebody recommend me 1 album I can download, I wanna check these guys out. I have no idea what they sound like, I think its heavy rock though...

Please don't tell me they sound like Tool or Rush :(

alright here's the thing, each lineup sounds radically different so follow these instructions.

If you want classic, english progressive rock download in the court of the crimson king.
If you want dark, heavy but improvisatory metal download red.
If you want humorous, but musically mindblowing music (ala talking heads but crazier instrument playing) download discipline.

all of these records really are completely different from each other and all are the best representation of their specific band lineup and the sound they were going for

Sample lyrics:

The smell of paint, a flask of wine
And turn those faces all to me
The blunderbuss and halberd-shaft
And Dutch respectability

To discover KC, you really have to try each era of the band. They're completely different.

For the Belew-era, I would say download Thrak.

I'm interested to see how KC fans are going to defend lyrics like those.

King: he's doing beat poetry there (had a big phase with that). now he's no kerouac but the lyrics do work well with the music, so its a-ok :nice:
krimson are hardly about the lyrics anyways, if you think that's the point you're missing the point
