i recently purchased 'pink moon', and can't seem to get these songs out of my head. what a beautiful album, but it'd be nice if i didn't have the mournful guitar plucking of 'horn' in my head when i'm just trying to have dinner with my grandparents or something. i certainly like this album more than 'five leaves left', though that is a good album as well. i haven't heard 'bryter layter', but i think 'fly' is my favorite nick drake song. but god, this pink moon is truly a gem. what a sad little suicide note of an album. but oh so beautiful.

"Pink Moon" is one of the prettiest, but saddest, albums I've ever heard.

good. this album is more acoustic and less orchestra, compared to the other nick drake that i've heard. supposedly he recorded this in one night?

In one night? I'd be absolutely amazed.

or two, or three. it was certainly a short little solo effort. long enough to put his whole heart into it and short enough for that to purely be the only thing he put into it.

100%.

Buy the other two as well. If you don't, I'll get them for you.

You need Nick Drake.

I played it to my mate at work, whose job it is to find ways of using music to get people to chill out.

Worked like a treat.

Take them to the pool room, chuck on a cd and have them shoot some pool.

Great Sunday Morning record. The stark production suits him much more than the full band cuts on his other album (Poor Boy springs to mind).

Great Sunday morning record - especially with a hangover.

I'm usually against most music being used to advertise products, but I would never have checked him out if it weren't for the title track being played during a car commercial I saw years ago. Definitely one of my favorite folk albums.
