Isn't Horn one of the most heartbreaking melodies you've ever heard?

I learned how to play it on my guitar once when I was younger, and my mom asked if everything was okay.

I used to confuse this guy with Elliott Smith.

I need to listen to that album.

Weird, Pete. Aside from their tragic ends, they really aren't that similar. Do you...still confuse the two?

To be honest, I don't really ever listen to either.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that changes before you turn 30.

I've never been able to get into Elliot Smith.

He doesn't really seem like your style. I'm not surprised.

It's his voice/delivery. I just can't get past it.

He can be pretty melodramatic, but his compositions are something else.

I may try again one day. But probably not.

Another fun thing about Elliott Smith is how lovingly he embraced the limited capabilities of the 8-track recorder. In that sense, I guess he is kind of like Pink Moon-era Nick Drake.

Pink Moon is a gorgeous record. One of my favorites.

And I'll listen to anything Elliott Smith ever recorded. Over and over and over again.
