You just ended the discussion in the first post dude! You should have let it go a little while before someone comes in, mentions the Beatles, and trumps all.

In the spirit of the AIC topic, I'll throw in Staley and Cantrell.

i want to include a duo combination of sonic youth members, but to be honest, each of thier songs is very much thier own.

thurston and lee have great live chemistry, though. and you have to fit kim in there somehow. very odd band dynamic indeed, but it works for them.

great picks there, the obvious one but obvious because it is in fact the only answer and the talented and extremely inventive one that people won't give credit to but deserve it. i'll also throw in bowie/eno, fripp/belew, and verlaine/lloyd

Apart from some that have already been mentioned:

John Frusciante/Josh Klinghoffer
Chuck D/Flava Flav
Kevin Shields/Bilinda Butcher
Billy Corgan/Jimmy Chamberlin

I was thinking of adding Black Francis/Kim Deal too, but I'm in doubt. It would feel unfair to leave Joey out like that.
