Rush in Rio is probably the most engaging concert dvd ever.

They do put on a great show.

When was the first time you saw them live?

actually it was just a couple of months ago on their current tour. I was familiar with their material, and used to listen to different stages and live in rio very often, but their show just blew me away.

Saw them at the ACC on the Vapor Trails tour. One of the best shows I have ever seen, Neil is a monster on the drums

RUSH EXTEND WORLD TOUR INTO 2008

TORONTO, ON – December 12, 2007:

After a hugely successful 2007 run, Rush are pleased to announce they will extend their Snakes & Arrows World Tour into 2008. The band will begin rehearsals in March to revamp the set list before kicking off the tour with their first ever appearance in San Juan, Puerto Rico in April.

2008 will see Rush tour in over 40 cities throughout the United States and Canada making stops in many where they haven’t performed in well over a decade including: Orlando, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Austin, Jacksonville and Winnipeg to name a few. Along the way, Rush will play new venues in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and Seattle and will revisit some familiar ones in Boston, Washington and Charlotte amongst others. Cool. My drummer will be stoked. He loves Neil. The last time I saw Rush was with him was during the Vapor Trails tour. I took a wrong exit off of I-95 leaving Baltimore and crashed my car, blowing out the two front tires in the pouring rain at midnight with the DC snipers on the loose. Good times. :shake:

This is one of the few bands that I'm actually surprised hasn't played NFLD in the last 5 years or so.

First time I saw them was ah well, I have to go check the shirt and see if it was Hartford or New Haven. It was in support of Roll the Bones and I believe it was New Haven, and then I saw them on the next tour for Counterparts in Hartford IIRC. But I may be mixing those up, I was only 9 or 10. The main thing I took away from those concerts was Neil Peart and the fact that I should take some drum lessons (along with a few others bands of the early 90s) and thankfully did. I need to get behind a set soon and knock some rust off... as well as see Rush if they come around again.

Yeah that shit was badass. The only thing I didn't like was having to watch their embarassing 80s music videos. I didn't think it was possible to suck THAT much.

Those videos are awesome. Distant Early Warning? Subdivisions? That shit is great.

No, "Time Stands Still" and some song that the chorus is just "100100100" over and over again. They were just so bad.
