Their site notes that SR will begin their tour in July with more dates to be announced and only August 3 - September 17 up so far. I'd venture a guess we'll have some additional US dates... well, I'd venture some hope anyway.

Sigur Rós will return to North America for their first live shows since 2008. The trek, which will see the band playing major summer festivals in addition to their own headlining shows, will be in support of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Valtari, released on May 29, 2012 on XL Recordings. The first track from Valtari, entitled "Ekki múkk," is now streaming on the http://www.sigurros.com. Tour dates are listed below.

Following a tour as a core four-piece at the end of 2008, the upcoming shows in North America will feature up to eleven people on stage, creating what are certain to be some of the summer's most magical musical moments.

Sigur Rós Tour dates:
7/30/12 Philadelphia, PA @ Skyline Stage at The Mann
7/31/12 Brooklyn, NY @ Prospect Park Bandshell (Celebrate Brooklyn)
8/1/12 Toronto, ON @ Echo Beach at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
8/3/12 Montreal, QB @ Osheaga Festival Musique Et Arts
8/4-5/12 Chicago, IL @ Lollapalooza
8/8/12 Seattle, WA @ The Paramount Theater
8/9/12 Troutdale, OR @ Edgefield Amphitheatre
8/12/12 Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Forever Cemetery

They were only given one hour at Osheaga this Friday.

Oh well, better than see Sigur Ros for an hour than never at all.

Translation for the Morse Code in the video:

“It doesn’t matter what I say”

“The only thing that matters is how you feel”

“Understanding that the words are irrelevant is of great importance”

“What feelings do you have”

(Repeat).

2013 north american headline tour
march & april 2013
sigur rós follow up their run of summer festivals by announcing their biggest north american tour to date. the trek, which includes a headlining show at new york city’s prestigious madison square garden, will be the most expansive sigur rós live experience yet, with the band taking the stage alongside all the additional players and expanded brass and string sections of the summer shows. this time, however, they will be incorporated into a completely new show, which also comes with the potent promise of brand new material, post-dating even this year's ambient-leaning 'valtari' album.

the band recently debuted a new song, "brennisteinn," at this year’s iceland airwaves festival, which was greeted with immediate praise upon being posted online.
"’brennisteinn’ ("brimstone") was violent, rude and irresistible: slow, mourning rock with bass tones so low and loud they rattled the floor, cut with a stubbornly delicate romanticism,” said rolling stone’s david fricke about the new track. “but just as the end seemed near and you expected the band to stomp off into their usual ether, the rhythm changed for the faster, with bassist georg holm and drummer orri páll dyrason locking in a brisk, extended techno surge. metal and dancing are the last things you expect at a sigur rós gig; both suit them. they should keep it up."

new ep with every ticket
we are pleased to announce that tickets to our upcoming north american 2013 spring tour will get you more than just entry to the show! every ticket purchased will include a digital copy of a three-track ep, containing new and unreleased music, made available to ticket holders on march 22nd, 2013

That's 15 shows. Is that really their biggest NA tour? That's bananas.

Or maybe more shows are coming.

It pains me to say, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Unless you're talking late summer/ autumn. They're touring Europe till 9 March. US tour starts 24 March up to April 17. After that they're going to Japan and they're already confirmed for Roskilde festival, which means they'll probably be all over the Euro festivals.
