Have fun!

I may be too late in remembering to post this but, if you don't have it already, I highly recommend picking up the Ný Batterí EP if it's at the merch booth. I bought it (and Amiina's EP) at the SR show I went to in February, and I think it is by far the best non-album thing they've put out.

You can't go wrong with Agaetis Byrjun, ( ), or Takk.

They're the 3 most recent. I would have a hard time picking one to get someone started on the band...but it was ( ) that did it for me.

I think Byrjun would be a better start, but I began with ( ) and I love Siggy.

How do you pronounce the name of this band? I'm listening to Takk, and it's pretty cool.

I always pronounce it like this: Sihger R(oh)s. Dunno if that is right, but I'm not sure if anyone knows.

Does anyone have Angels of the Universe? I love that album almost as much as ().

From the website, on how to pronounce Sigur Rós:

"si-ur rose (the i is like the i in "hit". "rose" is said very quickly)"

no t in there.

i used to be a "sig-ur rooosse" pronouncer, but now i think i'm pretty close to accurate. it only adds to the cache of talking about the band with people who don't know what you are talking about.

iceland tour photos

we’ve compiled the photos we received from the iceland summer tour onto this page. the pictures are quite nice as the venue locations were a bit unusual: a field outside a farmer’s house (háls í öxnadal), surrounded by fog in front of a church (seyðisfjörður), inside a huge canyon formed by a glacial flooding (ásbyrgi), etc. all the concerts were filmed and will be released on an upcoming dvd featuring footage from the concerts as well as of the icelandic countryside and people. a live cd is also being planned, with some of the band’s rare songs expected to be included (e.g. lagið í gær, gítardjamm, von revamped). we’ll let you know as soon as we have confirmed release dates for these.

:nice: A DVD and a live CD. Sweeet.

Wow, that live DVD and CD are going to be awesome. I can't wait to hear what that one acoustic show sounded like.

I'm excited about these too. However, I'm not anxious to hear a bowed acoustic guitar...
